Hi, I was browsing this collector's room of doom, when I came across this picture. In this picture is a great big playstation controller, and I remember I picked that up at a fleamarket this summer, but I have no idea what it is..
Can anybody tell me a bit about it? It looks to me to be some sort of joystick made especialy for a mech game of some sorts..
Also is it a collector's item, and what is it worth? cause this guy is giving it a prominent place on his display, so I wondered.. But I've never heard of it before..

That is a pretty cool lookin' controller... Can't imagine what use it would be for PlayStation though. Armored Core / Mech Warrior 2??

I wanted one this summer AFTER I got my Steel Battalion controller and game. I lucked out and got a brand new one on eBay.. boxed for about $25 as I remember. It's used the same way that the "twinsticks" are for Sega Saturn or Dreamcast. I haven't even opened the thing yet.. but so far.. the only games I know it works on are the "Armored Core" series.

I had an old topic about a month or two ago asking about what games were made to be used with this stick.

I can't get the search engine to work..(I logged in and out)
Anything I put in search it comes back to:
General Error
Could not delete old search id sessions

If I go and:
Find all posts by Videogamerdaryll

I get:
General Error
Could not delete old search id sessions

This was the pick from the old thread..Anyone remember the thread..?
It had a good amount of games mentioned to be used with it.

That controller came out in 1997 around the time of Ace combat 2

It's technically just known as the "Analog Joystick" (according to the box). It supposedly works with the Armored Core games, the Air/Ace Combat Series, a few other flight sims, and I think the second Descent game. I know for sure it works on Assault on Namco Museum 4, and that alone made it worth the $4.99 I paid a few weeks ago to score it, boxed, at a local FYE. Box is a bit beat up, but otherwise it's great!

Thanks, that cleared up a few things... Now I have to go find my long lost Ace Combat :)

To clear a few things up:
- The stick was released at the same time as Bogey Dead 6, not Ace Combat.

- It is also supported by several games you wouldn't think it would be, like Crime Killers and Burning Road.

- Since it's bascially just the dual shock controller in a larger format, keep it in digital mode, and you can use it for bascially any game. I was just playing with it on Tomb Raider II to test the buttons out for 1 I'm selling.

The only reason it's featured on that shelf (like the R.O.B. setup next to it) is that I didn't have any other place to put it. I've never played a game with it. I just picked it up at a used game store for 10 bucks because, as others have said, it just looks pretty cool. I must admit to checking out all the buttons and sticks when I first got it home and making "mech" SFX while I did :D

My gameshop has one of those but seeing as i am the late guy to this party no info i have has not been said already.

I never bother to ask the price on it either it is just up on a shelf collecting dust.
After checking the DP guide link i think i might offer them 5-10 bucks and see if i can pick it up.

Oh man, I bet Assault on Namco Museum 4 is a total blast to play with it. I've got this stick and I've been searching for Vol. 4 for a while now just so I can play Assault with it, but I can't seem to find a copy for under $30.

BTW, I've got an extra one of these analog joysticks in case anyone is looking for one.
