I went to Gamestop yesterday, and used my $16.00 in credits to buy Mario Party ($14.99).
Earier this morning, I was playing on "Mini-Game Island" in the "Tug-O-War" mini-game (Spin the Joystick until you pull the other 3 players into the pit), but my controler was not working! I was spinning the joystick, but it was not doing anything
Controlers I tried:
InterAct SuperPad 64 Plus
MadCatz Advanced Controler
Nintendo "Play it Loud!" Blue Controler
To make sure it was not my controlers, I tried all my other games, and they worked with all my controlers!
...So has anyone has problems with Mario Party?

Does the same thing happen repeatedly, or was it only a one time occurence. From the sounds of it, I bet it was just a glitch.

I once had this happen in Mario Party 2. One player was unable to register any joystick commands (all the buttons were still working) during one mini-game.
The problem fixed itself as soon as the mini-game ended.
Weird.

I loved Mario Party 1 and hated it at the same time. It was the game that killed many a control stick. Almost every N64 controller you find these days has suffered from Mario Party Syndrome. Damn you um.. whoever it was that created the game.. Hudson was it? HAL? I can't remember.

Super Smash Bros. was HAL, Mario Party is Hudson (I had that mixed up too; I must've been listening to a Smash Bros soundtrack song then - the Brinstar one. Neat remix.)

Hey Guys
I have Mario Party 3 that my kids really like playing. Is it worth it to try and find 1 and 2 also?
Thanks

It could also be a problem with the N64, cause I've had that happen to me also, but with different games.
Another thing that's happened has been the game characters controlling themselves, and the way I fix that is by unplugging the controller and plugging it back in again. And oddly enough both of these things has also happened on my GC.

Just sounds like your controller gets out of calibration somehow. I don't know about the GC, but on the 64 you can just hold L & R and press start to recalibrate the controller.
