What's your favorite sections to read first in the gaming magazines you read?

I prefer reading the retro section in Game Informer (unfortunately, other mags don't have a retro or history column, not even Nintendo, who has enough of a history to fill a monthly column in Nintendo Power).
Otherwise, I tend to read the mag in page order (yup, even the letters section!).

Only the things that interest me immediately, sometimes I will skip directly to reviews though, especially if it's one i've been waiting for.
I basically do a quick once over when I first get a videogame mag.
I eventually go back over the mag numerous more times, and I guarantee I will have every last page read "eventually", and remembered even if it isn't much interest to me. I give everything in videogame mags a fair shake when all is said and done.
Many times my opinion has changed after I read an article I didn't think would be any good.

Next Generation had a retro page that was great. I liked that mag.
I just picked up Play and I think I am going to subscribe. Kinda like a Next Gen replacment (for the older gamer).

I usually seek out the previews or reviews of the games I'm looking forward to the most (Metroid Fusion, Xenosaga, etc.) and then tackle the mag from the first page on.
With Play, though, I turn to the anime section first. I hope the mag adds a retro section like that found in Gamers' Republic.

i really like to read reviews of games that aren't out yet, and of course the collector's closet in tips and tricks.

Joe's section in Tips & Tricks ;) and the retro section in Game Informer.
Always. And it's pretty handy that they're both in the back of their respective mags, as for some odd reason, I enjoy reading magazines from back to front.

almost the same here. I go straight to the back of the magazines and read the articles there then the front sections and skip the middle of both magazines.

Regarding Play: It's not a bad magazine, far from it, but what bugs me with it is the lack of proofreading that goes in the mag. I see a lot more typos in there than in, say, GI or EGM. It's as if they spent so much money on the graphic layout of the mag that they ran out of cash to pay for an actual proofreader. And that bugs me a lot, since it doesn't seem professional to let typos through like that.

I like to read the actual retro magazines themselves! Electronic Games, Video Games, Electronic Fun, Joystik, VG Illustrated and the like. Each day, I grab a different issue to read during my commute, and I feel like I've entered a time machine back to the early 1980's. It's especially fun to read about the vaporware that never actually came out but was promoted heavily.

Ditto.. I love reading old mags for precisely that reason. Problem is, by this point I've read all my mags countless times already! :P

I like reading the retro sections, of course...in Tips & Tricks, I also like to read the Animal Crossing section since I'm into that game now. I also like the reviews & letters pages. Maybe I should write one sometime?
I don't have any of the old mags...maybe I should look for some?
