Half Life Dreamcast

With Half Life 2 out I decided to play a little Half Life on my Dreamcast. Odd thing is the disc is not working anymore. I tried my propeller arena too and it does not work either. Other games do work. I then asked my brother to try his copies and his do not work. I know alot of people on this board have these games. I was wondering if anyone else had any trouble with their copies?

Both copies worked before and yes my dreamcast plays other games with no problems. I find it odd that these games just seem to not work anymore.

My guess is that the dreamcast's laser is dying, albeit slowly, but it still is strong enough to read regular GD-ROM's

Could be your laser is starting to go bad and it just isn't reading CD-R's so well anymore.

I actually had a similar issue, for some reason my old burn of Ikaruga doesn't work last time I checked. other stuff did though, weird enough.

Oh and I have nothing useful to add really, sorry. Try burning again? bootdisc?

I think the most viable solution would be burning the games on different media, and burning them at much slower speeds.

Might be the laser or the DC. Always try cleaning it just for the heck of it too.

Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. Try carefully cleaning the laser. I had this problem with my Saturn and after cleaning the laser, there was instantly no problem anymore.
