Hm, that's interesting. $500?
The last one that was on eBay, I got outbid on. I think it was in Denver if I remember correctly, and I bid $300. The thing is, if you look at the one you just posted, it's been gutted. The original one had a Gameboy attached to the front of it (non-removable, I believe) and a mono-screen. On this one, the guy's removed all that, and just made space for a regular TV. In the long run, this one's probably a bit more practical than just a seven-foot-tall GB, but really all this one is now is a entertainment center for your television ... with no shelves.
And you would have thought the guy would have used a Nintendo game to show it off!

WHOA!!! That is definately super cool! I don't know about it being worth $500 though (at least not to me).

Personally I'd like to know about the GB Flack mentioned (monoscreen, so it really is a giant GB able to play GB games? Totally awesome; I was hoping that's what this would be but didn't think they actually DID that).

Oh search engine, why must you taunt me so?
I remember it sold for over $300. I had e-mailed the guy and he said the original Gameboy was attached and non-removable. The one I remember had Tetris on it, and the guy selling it did not know if the game was removable or not.

Thanks for the info Flack. Whoever gutted the thing deserves a boot to the head.

I've seen one other picture of this display. In the background were huge Game Boy carts. They looked exactly like a normal sized cart, but had a sturdy, metal handle assumadely for loading/unloading. What are the chances that it really was a gaint Game Boy which used Giant carts? Maybe the game Boy on the front was only there for controls? That would be too sweet for words. Reality, though, is that those carts were merely mock-ups. Oh-well.

I know the one flack is taliking about I almost bought it.... that cart in the back is not real... it had a real gameboy that was attatched to the front so you could play it... like any current handheld at a vgame store... but instead of playing using the gameboy screen you could play it on the tv.

Flack, are you thinking of this?

I'm probably wrong but this was the closest thing I could think of... It originally went for 300 something but then got relisted and I won it for closer to 175$ but then the seller NARU'd it and I lost most of the money (paypal wouldn't do anything)...

Yeah, that's the one I remember. NARU'ed? That sucks! So you never got it? Man! Well I guess I'm glad I didn't win!

Those systems look totally different. The one currently for sale might not have been gutted. Did someone ask the seller about it? If it has a 4 game switch on the back it might have been made like that for game stores.

Ya man it was totally a fluke, the guy had at least 500 pos feedback and only a couple of negs, what was weird was that he was communicating with me, then suddenly he stopped responding and I checked ebay and he was gone, paypal couldn't recover any money.

I saw the huge GB that was in Denver about six months ago. It looked exactly like the one in the auction but it had a GB attached to it so you could play the GB on the large screen. It was totally different than the one shown in this thread. The one in this thread looks like a table top demo unit that would be on the sales counter.
So unless there was a bunch of different huge gameboy's produced I would say that this guy has taken gutted this unit and put a new tv in it. He actually says that it is a new tv. He probably got it really cheap becaues it didn't work and just pulled everythign out that wasn't working and put a system sellector switch inside along with a new tv.
Without knowing more about the unit, or seeing some close up photos I would say that even if the XBox and the TV were included, 500.00 is way to much for this unit.

haha what a piece :)
I imagined they sitting there playing and it tip over, crushed by a huge gameboy lol. Doesnt look very stable. I would never have bought this thing, it wouldnt fit in anywhere. Too big and ugly in my opinion.

HOLY CRAP!!!
That's an official Nintendo piece?!?! That's AWESOME!!
I'd seriously pay a buttload of money for something like that. I mean, it's not someone's homebrew wooden POS, actual molded fiberglass and an official retailer piece!
