I've gotten my act somewhat together and have posted some pics of my Game Boy collection. It's really just beginning, but it looks pretty good all cleaned up. I have also included on pic of why it's just a Desk of Doom, and not a Room of Doom. I promise I will get it looking reasonable shortly. When I do I wil post more pics of my collection.

On the top shelf, I remember I had one of those plastic things thats on the left. You have two of them. I had my Yellow brick in there, and like 5 games. I had that thing with me all the time...
Also, on the actual desk, far right, what is that MASSIVE thing? It looks like you put an old brick in there and it makes it... 10 times bigger? Just too big to make it useful, but it makes for a nice piece of hardware.
Nice collection man!
But what is that thing to the far right of the desk? It's huge but its awesome!

Yeha, the thing on the right is called the Game Boy Booster. It was marketed by Radio Shack, I think. Basically, you put a Game boy inside it. It has two speakers, a magnifier, a light, larger controls, and takes 4 "C" batteries or an AC adapter. It takes away any sense of portability. One of my favorite pieces.

Yeah, it's a Radio Shack thing. I offers stereo, magnfier, and room for a AC adapter. Mines yellowed as hell, so that one is really clean. It's a decent piece to look at, but maybe not so much for actual play.

I love GameBoy Collections! I think they make the coolest collections!
Nice to see another JAP F-Zero too ;)

I have that same GBA SP case. Picked it up for $5 at gamestop. I keep both my systems in there along with some games. Nice Game Boy collection!!!

Heh, you wouldn't happen to have a Handy Boy, would you? It sounds similar (stereo speakers, magnifier, light, etc.), except it took 2 AA batteries. I have one, but it's in many pieces in my desk drawers somewhere.

That looks really nice. A lot of the things are boxed which makes it look really good. Great job! How many gameboy games do you have? I have 66 and paid less then 15 bucks for them, I only have 5 boxes for the games though but I have many boxed accosories and systems. Im selling all the games I don't play on ebay within the next couple weeks. My name is gregdoh1 if you are interested.

No Handy Boy, yet. I was watching a boxed auction recently, but I forgot to bid before it ended. I'm trying to wait for nice items in an attempt to curb my spending, so it may be a while before I get one.
The Handy Boy is very similar to the Booster, performing most of the same functions, but is a bit more portable. I forgot to add that the Booster also has built in headphone storage, and storage for two games. When I checked to see how many games it could hold, I noticed the Radio Shack sticker. Doh!
@charitycasegreg
I have about 47 Game Boy games, 17 boxed. I paid a lot more than $15 for them too! Actually, $15 is my limit for a boxed Game Boy game, shipped. That helps to keep my spending down, too. Somehow, I've ended up with a ton of doubles. I have at least 4 Tetris carts. I should trade em in to GameStop, since the sell for a ridiculous amount.

hadn't heard of it before you mentioned it. Was it released in the US? Everything I can find on it, which isn't much, seems to indicate that it wasn't. If it is, I'll have to add it to my list. Right behind the Singer.
@Videogamedaryll
I'd love to see it. Everything Game Boy interests me. Today I added a sealed F1 Race/Four Player adapter to my collection. I usually open everything I get sealed, but this looks to have a F1 sticker on the shrinkwrap, so I may leave it. I'll have to wait to see.

Very nice! It's great to see specialized collections like this. Are you more of a handheld gamer than a console gamer or is that just where your collection lines run?

My interest definitely lies with Portable Gaming. I find it much more convenient that console gaming. I like being able to take it with me to work, or school, or to the bathroom. Just recently I've decided to concentrate on Game Boy for a few reasons. The first is that by concentrating on just one system, I'll have more money to spend on that system. The Second is that Game Boy just had more cool/weird/crazy stuff released for it. Lastly, the Game Boy is the coolest! Seriously, though, it was the first system I anticipated. My friends and I even "invented" it before we heard about it. The horribly yellowed Game Boy in the middle is my original.
After I get my Game Boy collection nicely established, I plan to move through the other portables. Next will probably be Lynx, followed by NGPC.

Hey another Gameboy collector! cool! There's only a few of them i thought i was the only one for a while! You have an awesome collection going for you! 47 is a nice high number and I see some good stuff hiding in there! I need to get some pics of mine up here sometime, I have them all jam packed into a brief case in my dorm room right now. I'll put up a pic in a little bit :)

Aye, that's the question, isn't it? It was in Nintendo's official Game Boy strategy guide, at least. I'm more certain about the sonar fishing peripheral.

Ah ha! Mya rch nemesis in the Game Boy collecting arena shows himself!
OK, just kidding...I just recently decided to start getting a Game Boy collection going...my goal is to try to get all the US released original GB games. No GBC, no GBA (although I have some of each). I've decided that the Gameboy and the Sega Genesis are my two favorite systems of all...so I am going to try and focus my collecting life on those systems...Gameboy first.
It's going kind of slow...I'm up to 30 right now (soon to be about 35...would be 38, if not for a tragic post office accident). Due to a lack of space in my room...I'm going to be happy with loose carts, though.
Great pics, and good luck with the collection.

I'd say first NGPC then Lynx, or both at the same time, you will have a hard time with ngpc, but a much harder time with the lynx.
Still, good luck, i love to see other people that don't diss portables just because they are not up to par with the current console generation.

Sweet!!......Congrats man..
..........
I have to round up everything and send you a pick one of these days.
Stuffs all over the place,Hard Game Boy Cases and bags etc..
One thing I don't have for the Game Boys is: a lot of games.. :/
I actually keep my PGM/Demon Front Arcade Mobo in one of the Hard Game Boy Cases because it's the only thing it'll fit in nice :D (for protection)

That is cool, gameboy collecting is expensive. I was lucky enough to be at my freinds garage sale, when his mom's friend asked me how much the gameboy games should sell for. And I said I would buy them, and she said just take them... many good games included in the 25 games she game me. I also got about 33 from a freind and about 30 instructions with them. I some 1 of the games on ebay and it paid for all the gameboy stuff I ever bought including the bag case holders, systems, games. They go for a lot on ebay, I am glad I don't collect them.
BTW I also am listing the games I don't play on ebay : http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZgregdoh1

Here's a pic of my compacted collection (warning big pic):
http://us.share.geocities.com/aboliax/SV500002.JPG
You can't really tell in the pic but each stack of games goes 5 games deep. Its about 120 GB games and 5-8 GBC games. All my GBA games are elsewhere.
On another note, I started working on a website a while back that would catalog all of the GB US released games, have boxart, screen shots, descriptions, manual scans, you name it I'd like to put it on there. I'm about 25-30% done right now (A-C, systems section nearly done, all the templates done, with all the initial pics I can find without searching hard, no descriptions yet), would you guys be interested in seeing a site like that? I'm just curious as to how much people might like to see something like that.

Wow, talk about digging one up. :D
Sadly the Desk of Game Boy Doom is no more. My collection won't fit on it anymore. X_x So, I installed some shelves and moved all my hardware/accessories to them. Unfortunately, The shelves don't quite do the job either. So, my games are mostly packed away, and I have the odd accessory/system/game floating around the place.
The Game Boy market has recently become very competitive. Prices are up almost across the board. Luckily, no one is interested in the other handhelds still.
How are the other collections coming?

I'm stalled at 136 games (all loose of course, too cheap / lazy / don't like boxes enough to) go for complete. I was hoping to hit 200 this year, maybe I'll tune that down to 150 :)

Terrible. Prices are up, demand is up for some crazy unknown reason. DP members have had some great prices and great stuff as well as shows like ECGX and NAVA where I have scored a bunch before.
nice one, I love Game Boy, my fave Nintendo system.
My Game Boy collection's still tiny, but I'm 3 games away from a complete Lynx collection, and this week I will finish my Tiger game.com collection.

Prices have been oddly high lately...
Ive been collecting boxed games when the oppertunity arises for the past 2 or so years, but lately Ive been actively looking for them. Right now Im just looking for good deals on games period, especially first gen ones that I always wanted.
Something about those little carts is just so great. :)

I have Game Boy problems. I have over 800 boxed GBA games (US, only missing 5-7 new releases, and one older release), the entire Game Boy Color US collection boxed (including Interact's Rocket Games series of games, and the unlicensed Innovation Personal Organi"s"er. And I am missing ONE boxed Game Boy game, Captain America, which I am offering $150 to anyone who can get it for me.
