although this is a slightly biased mag (it is XBN after all) Im impressed with what they have been able to pull of with the Xbox hardware.
Im now looking forward even more so to getting the Xbox ver of Doom3 now.

Old news, hehe.
I wasn't impressed by the way the article was written - but I'm thinking they're probably right on. For XBox tech, pushing that game into 64MB of RAM is darn impressive. They sort of alluded to the game's control setup working very well, which was nice also.
Hey, 'long as it's more enjoyable on the harder difficulty settings than Halo 2 is :P
As for being slightly biased...you did see all the doom talking about the 'box in this issue, right? It was their last issue and they knew it. There's actually some pretty funny stuff in there if you look.

Heh, I MUST agree that the magazine is quite biased, but I think the game deserves it. It's a good shooter and technologically impressive. Makes sense.

What's the big deal about a two year old PC game being ported to the Xbox anyways?

That and not everyone has a computer beefy enough to run it.

Believe it or not, my laptop that only has a 64MB video card is able to run Doom 3 at very, very impressive rates. I probably get about 20 frames a second, and while that isn't perfect, I'm not complaining at all.
That having been said, the game looks wonderful, and I'm very tempted to pick it up again. It is a great, great, great shooter if you don't look for it to be the insane action that the original two were.

I think that the big deal was that a lot of people said that it couldn't be done without it totally sucking. And now they're saying that it doesn't suck.
You know, to answer your question, like, straight-faced.
