Damn this is starting to piss me off!
Disc 3, getting prepared for kickin Sepiroths ass...
Decided to do the Chocobo buisness...

So i get my Blue Female, no problems whatsoever, First time, a Female BLue is born!

Now is my problem, for the Last two days and 100+ tries, all i have had is MALE Yellows and Green Females!!!!

Surely this isnt right? I started to wonder if there was something up with my PSOne, so i tried it in my Playstation, Same problem!

Im 99% sure im doing it right, the whole "Mate Great with Good" and vice versa for the other colour!

Can any pro Chocobo breeders give me any advice, otherwise im off to kick Ruby Weapons ass and claim a gold chocobo off that old man!

i dont know if you are doing this but have you saved outside the ranch and reloaded every time you bred them?

heres a guide, not sure if its same to the one in the brady's guide i have but its a start.

Yup saved right outside,the amount of times ive turned that damn PSOne onn n off is insane!!!! im even using a more detailed guide too!

Technically, that's inaccurate, as Nuts can be purchased at the Gold Saucer. They're mystery items of some sort, though, and they're really expensive. You can also tell right away if a chocobo is Wonderful or not by the number of rabbits it shows up with.

I never really did see how you could beat the Red Weapon without using KOTOR over and over again... I know you can keep it paralyzed by using Dazers (or Hades) over and over again, but your normal attacks do so little damage against it.

I had the same problem, and then I raced my chocos a bunch and got them up to or near S-class and got a Gold my first try.

Just keep at it. (and you do know you can soft reset by just presting L1+R1+Select+Start [i think that's right]). I think I spent pretty close to 20 hours from start to finish in getting my gold chocobo. '97 was a long time ago, but my save is at 60 hours so...

Cheers for the help guys! But i realised my mistake...

I was mating Good + Great for Blue, and opposite Sex Good + Great for Green, when it turned out i needed to mate Great + Great.... i got it first time! @_@

I remember breeding chocobos. I spent 2 weeks doing nothing but so I could get one of each kind. The Gold is totally worth it.

I'm playing through FF7 second time around too, this time on my PC rather than the PSone.

lol caut it took me a long time to do it to, and i made the same mistake, im on ff7 for the 25th time and im using the guide this time because i still havnt got ever last item/secret/weapon whatnot in the game...im on 120 hours on disc one :)

Holy Crap! What level are you then? It took me 23:54 to reach disk 3 around Level 50

im only lvl 46 , i have been avoiding battling, and since access to the better exp areas are in disc 2 you cant really lvl to high in disc one, at least from what ive attempted...im mostly using the guide to find stuff, i did a LITTLE lvling...but mostly....i think ive spent at least a good 50-60 hours in the golden saucer
