I brought my Lunar 2 over to my friend's to how him how cool it is. Anyway, we stick it in his PS2 and turn it on. Just then the PS2 starts making a sound like it is scratching the hell out of my disc. I pop it out and it is fine, no scratches at all.. We proceded to try all the discs and the same thing happened.

I went home and got my PS2 and it was fine... What the hell is up with his PS2?

If the drive was clicking a bunch, then he's probably on his way to DREs...I get the same thing on any game that isn't on a DVD, and setting the system vertically is known to help out a lot. I know for a fact that it helps my PS2 out a hell of a lot, anyway...

I'm sure it has the 'can't read blue discs' effect. I've seen a bunch do this. You can try it at your own risk to fix it, or just sell it before it goes belly up.

Its not a blue disc... its a PSX game, and all of his other PSX games work fine.

Blue discs are normal cd's as are the psx ones. Is the ps2 vertical or horizontal?

Horizontal... He just got it 3-4 months ago...

And its ONLY Lunar 2....

No, PS cd's are black. Anyways, CD based games tend to sound louder on the PS2 for some odd reason or another. Though like the above posters it's most likely a fulty PS2.

pretty sure we all know that PSX cds are black ;)

That's pretty rare. I'd suggest checking your disc to see if it ain't bended or somethin, if not, then the ps2 lens is dirty, and needs a cleanin'

And yes, ps cd's are black, thank you captain obvious. But still they are in a normal cd rom format, with XA audio on a 2352 structure(Iso compliant), as are the blue cd's (the color does not matter).

Lunar works just fine on my Launch PS2.... I just got off the phone with him, and apparently he read that some models of PS2 have problems with Lunar 2.

Somehow I highly doubt PS2's have a particular problem with only that game. I find that incredibly hard to believe, personally.

I also have a problem with Lunar 2.

I CANNOT take down the end boss. No way in hell. The battle is so long that I don't feel like trying anymore. :D

Lunar 1...no probs, finished it several times. Lunar 2...no way.

It's the inner spindle not holding onto the disc firmly. The spindle is rotating within the center of the disc, and the disc isn't turning. Putting some masking tape around the center hole of the disc might help it grip better.

And he's not even the end boss LOL

After you beat Zophar, you still have a good 10 hours of epilogue left. The real end boss is an easy one on one battle.
