i finally recieved my Omnislash item, ready for when cloud learns the next limit break, but damn did this take a logn time, considering you cant leave the arena, it took my all night (about 6 hours) to raise up 32000+ Battle points.

But on the way, i got damn lucky, especially with this...

Fanboys enjoy:

The lovely Sight of: Cure, Lucky 7, Lucky 7, Lucky 7, Lucky 7!

Without this, i dont think i woulld have had the patience to finish off the whole battle arena!

the next itme up is also the W-Summon materia costing 64000 battle points, twice as much as Omnislash..

lets see, twice of omnislash, 6 hours X 2 = 12 hours of constant boredom! No thanks!

Any ways i just thought id share this cool picture with you!

the thing with the battle arena the more handicaps you get the more points you get, so while you get positive rolls on the roullette you'll just get a couple thousand points

whereas if you get all your materia locked and poisoned, then you'll probably get about 12 grand in battle points

cause honestly it took about 30 minutes for me to earn up to omnislash

your estimate is a bit off since now cloud has onmislash which is pretty much an instant kill in the arena

....but other than that consider going to a casino or just buy a lottery ticket or something

6 hours? i haven't played this game in a few years but i don't think it takes nearly that long to get 32000 battle points. wait until you try the get 64000 bp item... :) what is it again... w-summon?

did you do the special battle yet? you'll get another good item once you've won it.

if you want the most points, you have to sabotage yourself. try to get the worst ones but watch out. sometimes at the very last battle, you'll be SOL because you're so underpowered (several broken swords, broken materia, broken accessory, locked-out items). hah.

What annoyed me so much was battling my way thru to the last battle jsut to find some Ghost Ship fling me out of the arena on turn one! grrrrr!

It's been forever since I've played this game, but just off the top of my head, here's some things that help out a ton in the battle arena...

-Wear a ribbon. It renders alot of the negative slot effects null and void. If you don't have one, go over to the Northern Crater and morph a Master Tonberry.

-4x Slash. Attacks one enemy four times, or if there's more enemies, distributes the 4 attacks between them(often unevenly, but still). If I remember right, this can also be found in the Northern Crater(or the Ancient Forest, can't remember which), but you're going to need to work it up before it's capable of attacking 4 times on all enemies. Stock up on elixirs(W-item cheat or fight Dark Dragons in the first part of the Northern Crater if you don't want to cheat), head down to the Northern Crater to the area where the Magic Pots are, and make sure to give them an elixir before you attack. If you have Cloud's Apocalypse weapon, put the materia on that, and it'll get triple the AP from each kill, it shouldn't take long. Flash would also be a good alternative.

-Enemy Skill materia with White Wind, CureAll or Cure3 materia, and as many X-Potions/Elixirs as you can spare.

There's many different things you could/should use, but they've slipped my mind. I invite others to chime in if they know, and if it comes back to me I'll edit this post with the additional information. With the right equipment, Battle Arena can certainly be rather quick and relatively painless.

No problem. Like I said, I haven't played the game in forever, so I knew I'd probably be off on some of the details.

Only thing I'll say when it comes to fighting Ruby weapon: Hades. Casting Hades on the Ruby Weapon will effectively render it "frozen", for a certain amount of time.

EDIT: Also, kill off your other two team members.

The lovely Sight of: Cure, Lucky 7, Lucky 7, Lucky 7, Lucky 7!

So, um, what exactly does that do?

It is said that it is possible to kill off the Ruby and Emerald weapons with the right slot combination in Cait Sith's limit break, but I've never seen it myself.

cure means you're cured after the battle, lucky 7 means you get off scott free for that round, nothing bad happens to you but nothing good happens to you. in the battle arena it's really not worth it to get positive or neutral slot stops.

It's actually in your favor that you *do* get some negative stops, becuase for every disadvantage against you, you'll receive more battle points at the end.

without a doubt i think the best enemy skill to have in the battle arena is the "Big Guard", but that's just me. :)
