View Full Version : Who's interested in a DP/CGE floor at the hotel?

Trying to gauge interest in this here, nothing's been set up yet.
If you're planning on going to CGE, and you're planning on staying at the convention center's hotel, would you be interested in booking a room on a floor exclusive to DP members/CGE goers?
There is a possibility that this may be the floor that the CGE party will be held on, as well (to maybe forestall any noise complaints like last years). Keep this in mind!
It'll also be pretty convenient for finding others during the show, and maybe the hotel will even let us put up some kind of bulletin board outside the rooms if you wanna leave notes or anything.
So.. post here to let us know!

I'm in. Definatly sounds cool to me, especially if it will keep security away on party night.

Sounds good... means less random drunk wandering too :P
(yes yes Jaime, I know you'll chime in with a gag about my antics last year here but considering I got back perfectly okay shows my brain works independently of thought LOL )

I'd be up for that too. How would this happen....would we get some kinda group rate, then end up paying you to pay all at once?

count me in.
last year the party was in the hilton and i was staying at the top of the marriot. lets just say it was a LONG drunk walk back. Less of a walk is always a good thing.

I'd be down (assuming I scrounge the cash to go). Last year the drunken stagger back to my room was pretty harsh, and I'd rather not repeat it.

I would be interested... If...
A) I knew what a CGE actually was and where it was being held
B) If I wasn't stuck on a rainy old island...
So that's a yes, but doubt it would count

I am so down for this, but I have a question. We are probably booking a package deal through expedia (spending 3 days at disney before we come up). We could do that and just make a request to be on this floor correct.

Sounds like a good idea, assuming I can make it again.

Been the last three years, so being stuck here in the UK isn't an excuse ;)
I'd love a DP floor... I guess we'd probably need a sure number of people before they just block off an entire floor for us though.

As I said, absolutely NO details on this have been worked out yet, so we don't know how it would work for reservations, or how many people we'd need that would be interested. Yup, I'm just as clueless as normal :)
But it's great to see that so many people are interested, as it now makes sense for us to start hammering out the details.

Er... As much fun as it sounds like it'd be, I'll pass and take a room on another, quieter floor. When I want to sleep, I want to SLEEP. Having you chuckleheads playing "Dance Dance Stomp-The-Frigging-Floor-Until-5-AM" in the room next to me would result in more than one unsolved murder.
But I'll happily stop by the Party Floor and drink until my eyes bleed. :D

Boo! It will be a good time.
But hey I would rather take a Sniderman on a different floor then a sniderman on no floor (last year)!

Not that I'm anti-social. I lived in an all-male dorm in college for two years. And in that time, I got a grand total of 7 minutes of sleep a night due to the 24-hour party that was going on. I've become pretty protective of sleepy-bye time in my old age. :D

<--in, so long as the rooms aren't all connected, i.e. so none of you psychos can just barge into my room, kill me, and steal my haul.

Was going to. A few other DPers talked me out of it. I did the math again, and it really wouldn't save me enough $, may as well go to the party.

right now, me going to the CGE all depends on wether I get a FULL TIME job or not... XD. if I get the cash, I'd most certainly be intrested. :-)

Just wanted to update this.. I talked with Kevin a few nights ago, and it doesn't look like we're going to be able to set aside a block of rooms for DP members without taking those reservation counts away from CGE; apparently, the hotel isn't in the practice of doing any kind of subdivision of room blocks. It's not the final word yet, but it hasn't been looking too good.
