Hi,

It is known that you can play all American CD games on the Japanese version of the Turbo Duo, the PC Engine Duo. However American Hucards cannot be played on this console.

Does anyone know where I can find a converter or can I mod my Duo so I can play American Hucards on my Japanese PC Engine Duo?

Also, are there any other issues I should be aware of? Is the PC Engine Duo-R the same as the PC Engine Duo? Are Super CDs compatible between American and Japanese systems?

I'd appreciate any assistance.

Thanks,

Wyatt

There's some Duo info here, I don't feel like combing through it all again though:

for that mod is the only way as there is no such converter - US => JPN.
check out D-Lite as he often has pre-mod Duo for sale...
or you can send yours to him for the mod...

Yeah, it's like a 40+ point solder job to mod the Jp Duo to play US huCards. Sadly, as dj898 said, there is NO convertor for the Jp system to play US cards. The Japanese didn't need one :)

Just buy a cheap TG-16 console. I did that myself after buying a boxed PC Engine Duo a year or so ago.

The modification is actually very easy. If you are handy with a soldering iron, this is a pretty quick do it yourselfer. Check this link.

I'd be more than willing to help you if you need assistance.

Agreed a converter is a waste of money.

Or my $30 diving board. Never thought that would happen to me, but never say never.
