Cool, Your on my side of town now. I'll have to definitely stop by. I usually go out there to check out the Great Northern Record exchange. I'll have to add your new store to my route. When you get a chance post the address.

Yeah, let us know when and where. We will all stuff our wallet's full of cash and stop in!
I've been to the East side store a handful of times, but haven't been there in awhile, the new store will be closer to me (I'm in Parma) and I'll definitely check it out.
btw...hiring any help?...it might be really handy to have some of us collectors working for you when those great trade-ins come in and you're not there.

Indeed. Actually, my summer job just finished, so I'll be looking for a good part-time position for while I'm attending college (I'll be a college sophomore this year). I would be more than happy to come work for you! Let me know.

Well it looks like it will open on Monday.
The phone number is 440-801-9957.
The name is North Olmstead Exchange.
I have a partner who will handle managing the store and he will be doing all the hiring etc etc. He will be there most of the time as its across town for me. I will be there from time to time but if you do stop in let me know what you think.
Adam
Adam,
Where on Lorain is it? What stores is it by? Are you going to have Atari stuff at this store?

Sorry to go back to an old topic but are you guys familiar with The Gord. I used to work with him for a short while before he opened his own store. He's a good guy with an odd sense of humor. His website is great. I was up until 2 am one night reading through it.

Hey, buyatari.....
I stopped into your store yesterday. It looks like it shows definite potential. It sort of reminded me of Record Exchange (located nearby). Of course, it was the first day, but I think some decorations would really spice the place up (it's a bit plain looking), but your associates probably had not yet had any time to put them up. Also, selection seems a bit sparse, but, once again, it looks like it will improve in the coming weeks once the store gets settled in. All in all, I think the store looks very promising, and I look forward to visiting it again very soon.
What is the address of your new store? What stores at the mall is it located by? I'm going to be in the area tonight and I wanted to stop by the new digs.

Good luck with the new store. What kind of a store is this? Do you sell all video gaming stuff under the sun? Or are you like one of those exchange stores that sells nothing but used dvd's, cd's, game's, etc.?

What I want to know is, how did the Gord get away with beating up all those kids or was that bullshit? Regardless, it's funny shit.

Laws are a little different in Canada.....maybe (theory only) it's okay that he did that since they were on his property, or had stolen his property. Or maybe it's just local custom to look the other way.
Adam - I think it would really help your store out if you made the storefront a little more attractive. I mean, you've got the huge mario and the disco ball thingy, but that's really not enough...I'll try to think of some suggestions and get back to you.

First of all I think Gord is pretty damn funny but a big BSer as well.
As far as the store goes you can't do alot with the outside. City would kick my ass. They told me I can't have the Mario out there already.

He is pretty funny. I worked with him for just under a year. His resume was hilarious.

@Buyatari: I didn't nesscarily mean on the sidewalk or anything, but even just a better sign above the storefront or a more attractive front window. Nice job on the inside though. the posters make a world of difference over the old hospital room white.
@BriskBC: What's the deal with your sig? You make a bet or something?

Nah. My wife owns her own business and we are expecting another child in March. How it works in Canada is you can't get paid for maternity (from the govt.) leave unless you contribute to the govt.'s employment insurance program. If you own your own bisiness than you can't contribute because you are responsible for generating your own income. You can't get laid off.
Therefore we are going to be $500 short each month from February to Septembin 2003. We should be OK. I have sold of about 1/3 of my collection on ebay recently and I will get the rest on later this month. I have budgeted all the way to the end of August and by the last week we will have exhausted the savings. It'll just be very tight and leave very little room for mad money type spending.
I started the sig as my own little countdown to keep myself on track. Once Sep 1st roles around then I can re adjust the budget so I can get some of my games back.
Anyways, I don't mean to bitch. I enjoy being a father now and the 2nd kid will make the familly complete. It's just about priorities.
Where exactly is the store? I've been out by the mall several times and still have not seen it.

Its near the water tower infront of Toy R US.
There is a small plaza in front of Toys R US with a florist, nail salon,US and a VFW
Its a terrible spot and hard to find thats the problem.
BUT we have $1 Atari games and DP guides for sale inside the store. What more could you want.
