eBay Insanity 2005: WINNERS ANNOUNCED!

In case you've been hiding from the forums for the last three weeks, we started the third eBay Insanity contest, inviting members to create the most outrageous videogame-related auctions they could think of.

There are 39 entries in all and I must say this is the BEST year ever. Lots of creative entries and laugh-out-loud "auctions" in this batch. I've compiled them all and put them onto a single page here:

The rest is up to you! For the next week the polls are open. All you need to do is pick your top THREE auctions and list them in order here. Next SATURDAY February 5th, the polls will close and we'll tally up the total number of first, second and third place votes for each auction entry. There will be prizes awarded for final results first, second and third as well.

I've replaced the "bids" field with "points/votes". Each auction received 3 points for every first place, 2 for every second place, and 1 for every third place vote. I added up the points and the number of votes as you see here.

The highest point count wins with the vote count being the tiebreaker.

It took five auctions to get to three winners, as Dangerboy has three of the top six auctions! His prize will be especially nice. Also, since 3rd and 4th place were SO close, I'll award prizes to both. That's just the kind of guy I am :)

I think that one took about an hour, maybe 2 ours to do the pictures...the hardest was in the desrciptions. Thanks to everyone who took part in the contest! I can't wait for next year.

seems reasonable to assume that dangerboy won 1st, so must therefore forfeit his 3rd and 4th spots(as they are being combined into one awesome prize). thus, joe showed the next winner (cryomancer) as third place, and the 'fourth' place now becomes dahne, who also receives a prize due to closeness of votes.
