Hi all, I just have a quick question for those out there that have replaced their old worn out NES connector pins for new ones. Where did you get them from? If they are sold in any major retail stores I would like to know. If not, can anyone direct me to a website that sells them. Also, I don't think I wan't an MCM connector pin. I've heard that 3 out of 10 don't work.
Thanks in advance!

I have accquired two of them, actually. The first one I got from eBay, it's really tight. Getting Tengen games out of there killed my fingers.
The second one I got straight from Nintendo. All you have to do is call them up and explain your situation to them. If it Is a nice person they will send one to you. Some people won't, so just keep on trying till you get someone who is nice. The Nintendo brand ones are amazing. They work, and aren't tight at all.

MCM ones suck. Tight as hell.
I have some of the new manufcature ones from third party wholesaler Simple Jet. Single pins are $8.75USD per, and I can do lots of ten or more for $6.50USD per pin.
I've installed more than 30 of these pins so far, with no problems at all. 30 out 0f 30 (from the regular manufacturing assembly line batch (not the protos) work fine , and all pass with the NTF2 diagnostic cart.
I like them and buy them. They are a godsend when I have to do 10 NES's in a row.

Thanks everyone.
Also, omnedon thank you for that bit of info. Someone told me to ask you about this type of question in the temporary 20 year NES celebration forum. They said you're a pro at fixing stuff. Thanks for the tip, but do you have a link to their NES items? I found their webpage but didn't see the pin connector listed. Also, it just listed items they make. They weren't for sale, just clickable pics.

They are a wholesaler only, and only sell to resellers, in quantity. I have to pay with PO's. I'm local to them, and I can't walk in and buy stuff. The only reason they let me buy in the quantities I need (small by their standards) is that I help them out with technical stuff, demand stuff, testing, etc.
If you contact them via e-mail with a large order, they may be able to help you out. Odds are, of your order is less than 50, they will just refer you to me. :)

I need some pin connectors. Are they really just like the original pin connectors? tight enough to get the game to work but yet loose enough so you can just slide it in and out? should i be turned on by this? Anyways yeah id need probibly atleast 6 of them.
edit: just looked over there website and they got ALOT of kewl stuff on there. think you can hook a brother up? :D

Soon, I will have a real website, not like the placeholder in my sig. I don't do much in sales, but I will have a sales area.
The best stuff rom SJ is the straight forward stuff. The replacedment AC adapters, AV/S-vid cables for saturn, DC, SMS, Genny1 and 2. That sort of thing is the stuff I buy the most of from them. And the 72 pin connectors.
It was my prompting (and complaining about the fail rate of MCM/Ebay connectors) that got them to look into manufcaturing and testing, and now they are selling them wholesale. Now I'm on them to make replacement 2600 AC's, CV AC's, and 7800 AC's. Hopefully it pans out, and there is demand.
We'll see!
