I nabbed a second copy of this today at Blockbuster. When examining them side-by-side I noticed that my old copy listed THQ as the publisher on the label, while the other listed LucasArts and JVC as the developers/publishers. Also, my new copy has a glossy label and notes the cartridge as being manufactured in Japan, as opposed to Mexico on my old copy. Both have the same product number: SNS-E5-USA.

Is my old copy one of the Majesco re-releases? It has an actual label on the back of the cartridge as opposed to the 'etched label' on all of my other Majesco releases. It also doesn't mention the Majesco name anywhere on the cartridge.

I can provide a scan of the two cartridges if necessary.

T*HQ re-released a couple of games for SNES. I never looked at them to compare them, but I'm surprised there isn't a "-1" at the end of the part number on the label. At any rate, this particualr re-issue would have nothing to do with Majesco.

Yeah, if the label code is unchanged, then my theory of snes cart labels is totally off. Do you have scans?

Here're some scans of both the front and back of the cartridges:

I have the JVC copy myself
I was debating buying the other copy a few times i went into a shop.

I decided against it as i knew little to nothing about variations at the time and got "new" old games instead.

Thanks for that reminder. I will have to jot myself a note somewhere so i don't forget.

Well, my theory that all label variants having different serials is now proven wrong.
