Today, the 31st of January was just amazing!

I woke up early, at 7:00am as i had an interview at Leeds Art College this morning for the next course i wanna do which is a HnD Multimedia.
After the interview was over, Dad had planned to take me to collect the Arcade Cabinet i won off Ebay.

Anyways, the interview went really well and ill know if im in within 10 working days. But during the interview which took and hour or so, my Dad waiting in the car park listenin to the radio for 2 solid hours, chillign out with the fan, and acidentally left the rear window radiator on, so he didnt realise he was draining the car battery! When my interview finished i climbed into the car and we were ready to go, my Dad turned the key and the car made like a clicking noise!

Oh Shit!

Typical, moments before we were meant to set off for Arcade goodness the car breaksdown! (dead battery!)

After an hour of waiting the RAC (Breakdown Service) Guy came and jump started the car for us! We were back on the road!

We set off on our 70 Mile journey from Leeds to The Seaside town of Bridlington, the home to many arcades i used to visit as a kid on small family holidays!

Once we arrived we rang up the seller and he came to meet us in his white van containing the arcade machine... I dont know if any of you remember what it looked like, but here it is:

After we loaded the machine to our car, i asked the guy if he had any spares, jamma boards or anything cheap for sale, he told us to come to his warehouse round the corner, as he owns an Arcade!

Once inside he showed me a few other machines, there must have been a few hundred Jamma Boards there, a Sega Die Hard Arcade Jamma Board, A Neo Geo MVS Kit with numerous games, alsorts really. I just wish i had a tonne more cash as i could have left with some real gems!

Then another machine caught my eye, this one made my other one look like rubbish really... i asked him if i was able to swap mine for the one i had spotted, with no problem at all, he agreed as he just wanted rid of the cabinets!

Here is the Baby (In my garage with slight modifications)

(By the way, my nose started bleeding round about now, the excietment must have rushed to my head or something! was a laugh!)

This cabinet i spotted was pure gold, a changeable Marquee, 2 players, 3 buttons and 2 start buttons, and a spare control panel, and a whole Jamma set up inside, but no jamma game! Also behidn the Marquee is a tube lamp so i can light up what Marquee i have in!

After loading it all up we set off back home, and i spotted a very nice Second hand shop which had some classics inside...

here is what i picked up for £12:

Donkey Kong Country 3
Kirbys Dream Course
Dynamite Headdy

^DH Adds to my Treasure collection!

So for the last few hours ive been slaving away cleanin the cabinet, takin out wiring and basically getting it ready to add a PC and MAME into it!

Also as a side note, i have a tonne of spare parts now, buttons, Coin Senitels (i think thats the name) joysticks, and even a Jamma set up (so i believe!) So if anyone is after anythink let me know!

And that was my Monday!

That cab is going to look really nice when you get done fixing it back up. All it really needs is some black paint where the paint has come off. Nice find!!! It's cool that your dad helps you with this stuff.

If you don't want to take out all the wiring, you can buy a JAMMA to PC adapter, so you can plug a PC right into that JAMMA wiring harness. If you got an arcade monitor, you could then swap between JAMMA and your MAME machine.

If not, pick up an iPac and you can use all those wires like for the joysticks and buttons and just wire them into the iPac and you'll be ready to go in no time!

Nice score, congrats!

Cheers mate, im gonna invest in an Ipac! Jamma isnt my thign really, id love to have any game at my finger tips rather than a few on big bad ass boards!

Either way, the wiring is now out and up for trade!
