PS2 Band-outlets won't hold bands... Cd-tray won't open.

Bought a Playstation 2 for $30 from someone who took it apart and apparently didn't know what they were doing... Knew it wouldn't work but bought it anyways.

When I opened it I noticed that the controller connector-band thing wouldn't stay inside the band-outlet in either the main part of the playstation or the controller-hookup (the band-outlets were opened somehow, they click back to normal but don't hold the band well). I tried to hold them closed by putting a wedge in-between the playstation and the band connector but the controller still didn't work. Also the cd-tray won't come all the way out of the playstation.

Any ideas would be appreciated :P

yeah those connectors are a real pain in the ass.

I had to glue mine shut otherwise it wouldnt work .

So get in connected and shut the connector and put just a tiny drop of super glue on the corners.


Worked great from then on for me.
