I broke out the original Warioware for the GBA today and still I believe it to be one of the best handheld games ever created, and it looks great on the DS BTW :) I have been reading things about Warioware Touched lately. Unroll toilet paper, strike matches...etc. Sounds like another frantic ride! I just can't wait for this to be released, and I will surely be one of the first in line on launch day for the title. I am also hearing something about a new GBA release around the same time entitled "Warioware Twisted". Anybody have any details on this one?

Yeah, apparently Warioware Twisted basically has a built in motion sensor if you will (think Kirby's Tilt n' Tumble?) Anyway, I suppose you have to tilt and turn and twist the GBA in order to accomplish the goals - sounds interesting, but I have a feeling that Warioware DS will be my favorite once it's released.

YEA...that game will be absolutely amazing, evcen more if you actually have to tilt the ds to acheive goals! \m/

I'm looking forward to the Warioware Revolution even though it's way the hell away. I'm confident that the gyroscope control scheme should really capitalize on Twisted.

Well, I wouldn't think tilting the DS would be much different than tilting the SP. I know what most people say about the DS being heavier, but I think that's a load of bull. It's light as a feather, unless you are a real wuss and actually think it's got that much weight :)

Even still, I don't know about another tilt type game. I'm really not into it myself, but not because of the supposed reason I just wrote about. Just because I would hate moving the screen while trying to view it. Who knows..maybe it'll be different...but I doubt it.

Screw it. I want and need both the new GBA Wario Ware AND the one for the DS (hell if I know the respective names for each one though LOL)

The U.S. versions of those can't come out fast enough for me. :P

Hah. I was thinking that myself. Either way, both will be purchased by me...no matter how they turn out to be. I guess the big N really made an impact on me with the first game.

I can't wait for it either!! The original wario ware was one of the most fun and unique games ever, and the DS one looks even better! Not to mention Star Fox Assault comes out the same day...what a day that'll be! I gotta finish some games before then!

There are 3 releases that are warranting the purchase of a DS in the near future for me:

Mario 64 DS (I don't have a N64, so it's great news for me)
Animal Crossing DS (I have the GCN version, but it oughta be great on the road)
WarioWare Touched

Was Final Fantasy 3 confirmed for the North American market? If so, add it to the above list.

yes im pretty positive it is confirmed, people are complaining about the graphics. go figure...

Well, duh, what do they expect? FF X?

It's like the people complaining about the visual quality of FF I+II on the GBA, when it's actuall on-par with FF Origins on the PSX (except for cut scenes... weren't there a couple of cut-scenes at the beginning on FF Origins? I can't remember and I just gave my copy of Origins to my best friend).

I do admit, however, that it'd be nice if the original version was included as a sort of bonus, but I'd consider any kind of graphical update to FFIII from the Famicom to the DS to be a huge visual improvement, no matter what.

Twisted is amazingly cool, it's all I played for a solid month or so, EVEN THOUGH I beat it on the first day. There are approximately three bazillion little toys and minigames to unlock.

Touched is awesome too, but I don't think they put as much effort into it as Twisted.

I have two primary reasons for wanting a DS: The sequel to Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and this. I can't wait to see what games take full advantage of the technological advancements the DS has over the GBA.

Touched does look awsome! If you liked FTM, looks liek this game shall be much better. The games do look a little easy, but I have no clue since I have never played it. Definatly the most anticapated title (for me) of 2005.

Well, I know I'm not the only one that picked this up today.

I've enjoyed it greatly thus far - made it through 6 Character stages, and unlocked about 10 different toys to play with.

Pros:

- Minigames are a blast! Some very creative ideas, along with some that made me laugh out loud. Most all the minigames have clear objectives as well. I don't know if it's bad or good however, but since there's really only so much you can do with a touch screen, many of the minigames seem to share very similar goals (draw, scratch, rub, scribble, etc.). The variety comes in the actual execution of the minigame - drawing a line to thread a needle and drawing a line to slice vegetables in half are two completely different tasks - though it requires the same input - drawing a line. Good or bad, I'm not sure. It doesn't seem repetitive to me, but perhaps that's because I haven't spent enough time with it yet.

- The toys are great fun to unlock. I spent about 10 minutes just goofing off with the 10 or so that I did get - they really show off some neat concepts as far as the touch screen goes.

- Just as good as the previous WarioWare games. (So far!)

Cons:

- Can't skip the cinemas unless you reset the system or sit through the whole thing.

- The difficulty seems a bit on the light side so far - I've only "died" about 5 times out of 60 minigames. Those "deaths" were mostly due to unclear objectives - ie. I just couldn't figure out what to do in the 5 seconds I had. This will probably change though.

- Didn't see any multiplayer features, which is a real shame. I don't see why they couldn't have implemented something, even if it were a basic back and forth minigame battle type thing.

Anyway, I've really only spent about 40 minutes with it so far, so I've moved through parts of it pretty quickly. I'm sure the replay value will be just as high as the others though, so that's not such a big deal to me. So far however, I'm very happy that I picked it up. It's really a video game experience unlike any other - and it's always great fun to see what crazy minigame is next.

Barring any major problems (overall weak difficulty, too repetitive, etc.), then this is a game that should be seriously considered by any DS owners - though I would hesitate to call it a system seller - it's a bit too "out there" (niche may be the right term?) for the casual gamer (or so I would believe).

That's not to say that it won't sell a few DS systems, but it's not going to cause them to fly off the shelves, much like neither of the previous WarioWare games. If you liked those - you'll like this. If not, this probably won't change your mind.

Sears has in their ad this week for $30. Shelf price everywhere I've looked was $35-40. I'm going to use the Sears ad to price match at Best Buy since Sears will most likely either a) not have it out or b) have anyone in the department to unlock the case.

Yep, Gamestop has it for $35.

I didn't really want to pay $35, but it would have cost me that much in gas to go to Sears and/or Best Buy to have 'em price match it, so I just went ahead and picked it up. Gamestop was the only store around here with copies anyway.

I got two copies of it for $40 each from FYE (thanks Drake credit). Just about to sit on the can and give it a spin. The manual alone looks cracked out... good sign. :D

As soon as a cinema starts, hold L+R+Select+Start and it'll reset back to the game title. Pick the same character again, and there's a handy skip button in the bottom corner. Sucks to do it that way, but it is a whole lot faster - you can almost finish a character's minigames in the same amount of time it would take to sit through the cinema.

This really is a short game though - perhaps even shorter than the previous versions. I've already beaten everything in the "story" mode and broken all the high-scores (or so it would seem), unlocked 19 toys (and broken all the high-scores thus far), and beaten quite a few games in my album. I'm not sure there's much left to do other than beat the rest of the album games, but nonetheless, there's still nothing like it.

CRAP! It's out now? Darnit... welp, looks like it's about high time to get a DS. My money is divided between many things at the moment, but I should definitely pick this one up.
