Since I'm on the go most of the time, handheld gaming has become pretty much the only gaming I do, aside from the occasional emulated game on the PC. I have pretty much gone full blown collecting Gameboy/Gameboy Advance titles for some time now, but there is still no way to determine the actual rarity/value of titles. I realize there are so many to cover, but does anybody know if any progress has been made to this effect? Whenever I bid on a game on ebay, I really don't know if I am paying more than I should. I guess I am paying what I am willing to pay, but it would be nice to have a guideline to work by.

BTW: I notice DP's online Gameboy list has rarity listings...didn't see that before :embarrassed: Still empty on the GBA listings however...

Go open your DP:Advanced and inside you shall see, not only GB, but GBC games with raritys. GBA is active and i'm sure someone has control of the list for it, I just dont know who.

Ha ha!

Still empty on the GBA listings however... In other words: "I'm embarrassed to have stuck my foot in it, so I must somehow find something valid to complain about." LOL Seriously, it's tough to do rarities on a still-being-produced system. Since games are still being manufactured, what if:
1. a supposedly rare game gets another manufacture run, doubling the amounts on store shelves? Rarity for that game suddenly drops like a stone.
2. a system suddenly sees a surge in popularity and all FUTURE game releases see an increase in numbers. Suddently, all EARLIER games are in lower numbers respectively and their rarity goes up.

There are other similar situations. So, it's a lot easier to simply keep a list of releases and then - only AFTER the system is defunct and no more game are being produced for it - come up with a rarity list. It keeps the writers from having to reinvent the wheel every few months.

collecting isn't about rarites. collect what you like. if they become rare good for you.
