tekken 5 is definitely the best of the series, we been spending a ton of time beating the crap out of each other at the local arcade down here, we just had a big tournament last sunday that went well....love the card feature ( but then again what isnt using cards these days) and the fact u can plug your ps2 controller in...even tho i prefer the stick its still cool

Tekken 5 is the best in the series by far. Right up there with 2, 3, and TTT.
Namco redeemed themselves after making T4.
Cant wait for the console version to hit in march. Im glad the USA will get it before Japan for once.

I haven't played Tekken 5 yet, but I am glad to read that the series is back and doing well after the Tekken 4 disaster...

I am so glad to have played Tekken 5 in one of my arcades, and I must say, I really like what I see so far. The graphics just blew my brain, and the grandiose roster, while not as extensive as Tekken Tag Tournament's, is still very prominent nonetheless. I didn't get to play much of it, but from what I did get to play, AWESOMENESS.

I dig Tekken 5. Some of the cheaper characters have been balanced out a bit which is neato cause using J Lo is fun! The graphics are really impressive. Esp. the stage in the field. I wonder if the Tekken 5 port will be perfect. Namco didn't do a perfect port of Soul Calibur 2 so who knows. Fingers crossed!

Eh, a number of things...I never got into it, but apparently some characters were REALLY easy to win with compared to others, and I don't mean tiers, I mean, they were literally pretty simple. Walls were an issue since they were so close.

In general, tekken fans just thought 4 sucked after Tag.

What's wrong? Well let me start.

Namco wanted to try something different when they made T4. They added uneven terrain, wall pushes, position changes, side walking like in Soul Cab...etc

The alot of people didnt like the changes and complained like crazy.

In Tekken 5, they went back to what works, T3, TTT gameplay. The music is a lot better also. T4's music was crappy to say the least. Also they added a few ideas from VF Evo like character customization, the crush system, and rankings..etc

Also for T5, they bought back infinite stages(no walls)for some stages.

I hate to jaunt the venue of the topic, but what was imperfect about the SC2 ports? The lack of Conquest Mode?

The PS2 version is VERY VERY close to being almost arcade perfect. You can BARELY notice the differences.

T5 is a great game, regional tournaments for the national tournament are going underway this weekend! O_O!

I was referring to the PS2 port of SC2. Off the top of my head there was slowdown. I never encountered slowdown in the arcade version of SC2. Considering Tekken 5 runs on a System 246 variation (system 258) that's supposed to be more powerful than earlier incarnations (and PS2) I question how perfect the port will actually be. Should be close though.

tekken 4 didn't totally suck, but it was my least favorite.

CreamSoda: Ah, Jin is also very awesome... but remember whom he inherited his awesomeness from. ;)

RCM: Ah, slowdown... that bites. Good thing I opted for the GC version. But I have a feeling that Tekken 5 on the PS2 will be smoother than a baby's behind smothered in white chocolate and............ this analogy is weird enough as it is. @_@
