hi everybody im new to this site!

well heres the story!

we have a local large flea market in my local town!
and im always running into old games & access & game systems for old game like for nes,atari..ect
and im just wondering if anybody can help me out on what to look for!
this pass-wkend,this lady had like 20 nes/ninteno 64 games and she wanted like $3 for all of them! you see lots of these games laying around on top of tables for 50cents to $1
i didnt buy them due,to im not intersted in them!
i was gonna buy them to sell them at eb(electonic boutiqe),but i know for fact they only give you like 5-25 cents per game!

i have also seen several gray controllers that have the shape like a dog bone and game systems!

i just dont wanna buy some games and end up losing what i paid for them!

so if anybody can tell me what to look for,i would be very thankful

Take these with you:

That's all you should need.

If you're buying purely to re-sell for a profit, these are some of the ones you should be looking out for:

Atari 2600 - Combat, ET
NES - Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt
Genesis - Sonic 1 (but only the ultra-rare 'not for resale' version)

Hope that helps! :D

Ditto. If you want to be yet another profiteer, at least be respectful enough to buy the DP Guide.

First up, welcome to DP! We truly are happy to have you and happy to help!

That said, you kinda opened yourself up to a bit of ire with your query. "What's worth most, so I can resell it for money" requests are met with some irritation around here. Most folks here are collectors and not really "profiteers" looking to turn a score around for a few bucks. And people who ask those kinds of questions with relatively few posts also tend to disappear once they have their answers - making those who helped 'em out feel a bit "used."

Since your question is so open-ended, no one is gonna want to do the legwork for you. If you're looking for a quick reference that you can do yourself, check out the DP Online Rarity Guide in the menu bar above. You can pretty much sort through the lists by rarity, and values are also listed for most games/systems. If you remember the games she had, you can look them up individually. If not, call up lists for the system (NES/N64) and see what the big dollar items are.

However, the portable biodegradable Digital Press Guide (Classic and Advance) is the price guide/rarity list that all others are compared with. Two very big volumes with every game for every system from the classics of the 70s and 80s up through modern systems like the N64, NES, TG-16, etc. You owe it to yourself to pick one or both up. Plus, they make great bathroom readin'! :D

Hope this helps.

thnxs for welcomming me to this site!

1st of all!
im not really intersted in making a few buck,if i made it sound that way!
i apologize!!
im more into trading!

!you got what i want and i got what you want!
so lets trade! :)

but there are some people out there that'll try to screw you over!
specially if you dont know the value of the game or its a rare/hard to get game!
and im here selling it for $1 and its valued at $10-15(which itll be my screw-up!)

but if you really dont know, people will offer you $1 or $2 for the game and it ends up being a $10-15 game!

i just wanna trade equal value on what the game is worth!
hope you all understand-where im trying to come from!

hell, if you see ANY cheap games, buy them. 20 nes/n64 games for $3? even if they games are crap you can make atleast $30 on ebay. if you arent looking for profit though buy anything you see that seems cheap and I am sure someoen here needs the games you have.

As long as you become a reliable seller/trader i am sure you will come to love the digital press community.

Anything with the word Madden in it is worth alot.

I think what the guy is saying is he dont give a crap for old school stuff but he can get it cheap and wants to know what to pick up to trade in at a game store for ps2 and gamecube stuff he will actually play.

Nothing wrong with that.

My advice pick up cheap nes snes etc. games there and post them in the buying trading forum on this board youll easily find people to trade those games to for newer systems games.

If you see any Nintendo World Championship carts, they're not worth much, but I'll buy em off ya.

Agreed, many people here will be willing to trade you ps2 and gamecube games for the nes and snes games that hyou have absolutely have no interest in. The 15 nes games you just got for $5? someone her might trade you two ps2 games for them, or more!

nuffin wrong with trying to make a buck fella !!!

your best bet is find a system that intrests you for a start, older the better.
but, stick to what you like.
then do an ebay search listed in order of price, completed listings.. that way all the games that are worth the most float to the top, make a note of them and keep an eye out, as time goes by expand your intrests as your knowledge broadens

anything that is in pristine condition over 10 years old is going to be worth a few quid (sealed or box instructions and cart/cd immaculate)
loose carts are rarely worth more than a pittance but obviously theres exceptions.

one word... BOX

good luck

If a game is selling for 1 cent, then it's a good deal no matter what. Once you hit a dollar or below, you can't really get ripped off.

Dude!If you want to trade those old games for newer stuff, do it here! You wont get screwed like at Gamestop, EB games, or GameCrazy...those people suck.
I want those NES games!
Please keep an eye out for:
Intellivision stuff
VECTREX STUFF----me want :-P
stuff for this system is incredibly hard to find in the wild-for me at least.

There are not many times when I pay five dollars or less for a game a feel ripped off. There are, of corse, obvious exceptioms, such as SMB/DH. But in general, cheap games are good!

If you're just looking to make some cash, you'd be much better off looking elsewhere. Video games depreciate like crazy. Even the so-called "rare" and "expensive" games rarely sell for more than what their original MSRP was. There are tons of better ways to get the funds to get the new games you want.

I'm aware of two games that are either old, or hard to find. I don't think there are any games that qualify as both (I could be wrong).

Anyway, the game that is old is called Super Pitfall. It shouldn't be hard to find (that's the other game). Just go to any decent used games store, and look for the "old" section. Super Pitfall will be the game you find in that section. If they don't have Super Pitfall, the old section will be empty. Try back in a week.

The hard to find game is probably Halo 2 for the Channel F system. I can't be sure if it's the game that's hard to find, but I never found it, so I think that's right. Be careful that you don't accidentally buy the Xbox version of Halo 2, because it's not as rare as you might think.
In any case, if you happen to find Halo 2 for Channel F, then it would no longer count as being hard to find, and it would lose value BIGTIME. So if you want to keep the bragging rights, make sure not to find it.

Let me know how things turn out.

Isn't it a bit hypocritical to slam this guy for trying to make a few bucks by selling videogames that he buys? I'd say that a majority of the members here sell games from time to time on eBay, Amazon.com or the buying / selling forum on this very site

I just sold my "not for resale" version of sonic the hedgehog on genesis for $87. It was hard parting with it, probably my rarest game. Keep an eye out for it.

Profiteering...
Maybe you are at the wrong site.
We're not here to profiteer. Shit, I don't even profieteer. I used to.
Example: A friend has a large load of game boy games. he told me he'd sell em to me "at whatever price my magic book says". Needless to say I couldve made a shitload. Instead, I bought all the games, took the ones I want, and am sending the rest along at exact cost to scooterb23 to help his game boy collection along.
If you're looking to profiteer, maybe you should use www.ebay.com as your guide(and source).

Don't mind them, apparently they are all idiots with nothing better to do than amuse themselves by picking on you.
