i got this in the mail today and played it a little. when you turn it on, the title screen says 1992 data east corporation, and the name of the game is in japanese with the number "2" after it. all the option menus are in english though. i only played it a little, but you start as a little kid that looks like the guy on the label, if you get hit you turn into a monkey, when you get hit again you die. it plays on my US system. the label says adventure of rookie, but the title screen is in japanese so that may not be the real name. does anybody know anything about this at all? was it released in any country?

Whew that's a tough one. The only Data East title that comes close to that date and title is "Tatakae Genshijin 2", which is translated to "Caveman Ninja 2", which is the Japanese equivalent to "Joe & Mac" here in the US. I'd have to check out the game at home to see if it matches your description.

Anyone else have any ideas?
