A store in my town has it complete with everything for $39.99. The box is in pristine condition except for a little bend near a corner, the standup things are still wrapped in plastic... Is this a good deal?

Considering I paid twice for that, yes.
I really enjoyed the games. They are really good strategy/tactics games with a good story, fun gameplay, decent music, and good challenge. Arc 1 is really a prequel to 2, but 2 and 3 give good gaming length.
A word of warning -- Arc 1 and 2 are easily the most depressing, somber, seriously, heart wrenching, SAD games I have played in a LONG time. There's no happy ending, no good resolution. You are left with the experience of a good game but with tears in your eyes. And no humor that you expect from Working Design.
Luckily, 3 has a lot of the trademark humor in it and is a lot more cheerfull game, while being just as fun as the first two.
And the final boss of Arc 2 is one of the HARDEST bosses I have battled in a RPG. (shudder)

I liked it, It has the grid based battle system, like front mission.
I thought it was cool.

They can still be had new for about 50. They tend to go for about that on ebay complete as well.
The Disc set "C" (or the ones that are red/black colored disc arts) are the harder to get ones.

If you need to ask whether it's a deal or not, I'd say no.

Man you sure love those Working Designs sets don't ya. :D
Anyways, consider this. You'd be getting 3 whole games (4 if you count the monster game), a making of disk, a nice hard bound manual and a whatever goodies came with it (sorry, had a brain fart). So yeah i'd say go for it if it makes you happy.

The game had a nice pre-order bonus also -- a solid quality watch, with charcters from the games on the face. It was actually well put together and is a nice part of my very limited collection. ;)
The WD guide for the game is also still for sale from their website. They only ever published 1-2. 3 never came out due to the constant delays that WD always suffers from. Side note -- I strongly believe the Arc guide book weighs in as the LARGEST game guide book EVER made, at 571 pages. :eek 2:
