Dead button on DC arcade stick

So, the "z" button on my official DC arcade stick died. Still presses fine and all, looked to be ok when i opened it up, no broken wire or anything too apparent...what can cause this, and how fixable is it? Any advice is welcome.

edit: bonus item! i also have a non-functioning SNES mouse, buttons seemed fine, cleaned it out, nothing broken looking inside, no response.

Does the switch still click if one exists or is it just a contact like NES and SNES controllers? Does the board look damaged? I've never seen a DC controller on the inside.
