Does anyone have a list of all the SMS games released in Canada but not the US?

And does anyone know the Canadian release dates for Zelda II and Super Mario Bros. 3? My memory has them being released before the US but I can't find any information on this.

I figure I will bump the thread once to see if anyone has any answers.

I emailed Nintendo and got this reply -

Hi,

All of the games are released at the same time in Canada as they are in the U.S, so if you have the U.S. release dates, you also have the Canadian release dates.

Nintendo of Canada didn't have an address on their site for those types of questions so they listed NOA's. Still, I'm skeptical how much current NOA employees have access to 8-bit NOC info. If anyone has the Canadian box for SMB3 could they please check and see if it says 1989 on the back for me. I have the game but only the cart.

As for the SMS, this site http://www.cgcc.ca/articles/view.php?article=Canadian%20Collectors%20FAQ lists these as Canadian releases not available in the US.

Sega Master System Canadian International Releases
Ace of Aces
American Pro Football
Basketball Nightmare
Battle Out Run
Cyber Shinobi
Dadan the Jungle Fighter
Double Hawk
Dynamite Dux
Gauntlet
Golfmania
Hang On / Safari Hunt
Heavyweight Champ
Impossible Mission
Out Run 3-D
Power Strike (Blue/White cover is the Canadian Special Edition)
Rambo
Scramble Spirits
Spy Vs. Spy (Cart Edition)
Submarine Attack
Tennis Ace
Ultima 4
World Cup Italia 90
World Games

It doesn't seem totally accurate though(aside from the Danan spelling error). Hang On/Safari Hunt and Rambo are listed because of box variations although it doesn't mention it. Blue/white Power Strike did come in the US. I thought Ultima IV came out in the US since it was advertised and reviewed there but I'm told it wasn't. I remember it coming out in Canada anyway.

I definitely remember seeing OutRun 3-D, Basketball Nightmare, Battle Out Run, Dynamite Dux, Gauntlet, Impossible Mission, Scramble Spirits, and World Games on Canadian store shelves. And I saw Assault City which I don't think is a US title.

Any help/info would be appreciated.

I know for a fact that Zelda II was released earlier in Canada. I am from America, but wanted Zelda so bad that I ordered it from a Canadian gamestore (TRS?) to get it just a couple days sooner. I lived for Zelda at one time.

I have the earliest SMB3 Canadian box variation (the one with the pic of the level that's not in the game and the pic of World 1 having altered map routes) and the copyright date on the back is 1990. I pre-ordered SMB3 from a video store in December of 1989 and I bugged them every week of January, but they didn't recieve any copies until Feb '90.

Hope that helps.

Thanks guys.

I was likely mixed up about Mario. I'm curious how much sooner Zelda II came out. Player-2's reply makes it sound like it wasn't a long period of time.
