Check out this comparison of the Jamma vs MVS wiring:

Realistically, you can do regular JAMMA easily. CPS-2 is going to require a kick harness for the additional buttons.

I have never done it myself, but I would bet that you can just wire a few extra buttons up to your existing harness rather than replacing what you have with a kick harness... check out the pin out for the CPS2 board you want to put in to be sure.

See i have NO clue what you guys are talking about.. Some links or pictures hehe would be nice..
I was reading that something like 80% of jamma will work just by hooking them up.. and this is what i dont understand.. Do I just take the MVS slots/board out of the systemand then plug in the jamma pcb?

In the vast majority of cases - yes. Basically, any game that requires three/four or less buttons should run perfectly fine.

cool cool, thanks! I'll deal with the CPS32 stuff later =) and just enjoy the cab for a while.

The one problem with playing CPS2 games like SF2 on a Neo cab is that you are going to have to add buttons for it to be fully functional... this may not be a problem for you but I wouldn't want to alter that beauty looking control panel by adding buttons on my MVS cab if I had one... :-P

unless it is not a dedicated neo geo (ie...a conversion cab) then DO NOT cut into it and add extra buttons...its not worth it

Ok, now I have a question...
...is there any way to rig up a jamma machine to play MVS carts? :hmm:
Yup... buy a MVS motherboard... the 1 slot is already JAMMA, the multi-slots are very close, but need a few modifications. But who needs multi-slots if it's just gonna be in your generic JAMMA cab anyway :P .
