And I've seen on several sites that it was $109 -- although I would'nt be shocked if some stores sold it a bit cheaper at $99.

Nintendo's suggested price was $99.99 but a number of stores were selling them for $109.99. Charging an extra $10 for Nintendo hardware was pretty common at the time and larger department stores would run them in their ads on sale for $99.99.

I never had a GB until the multicolored GB Pockets came out, bought a clear one + Links Awakening for a long trip.

Got a Game Gear at launch though. There are so many original GB games, specifically RPGs, I need to catch up on. How long are each of the FF Legend games? Are they worth the trouble?

FFL 2 and 3 are especially good. They're pretty tough, so depending on how long you level I'd say they'd each last at least 20 hours or so (each), depending on side quests and stuff like that too.

I bought mine September of 1989 from Montgomery Wards for $99.99 with Super Mario Land, I think the price of the game was $29.99 back then, not too sure..

Now I remember the GameGear was $129.99 at one point with Sonic 2

$119.99 by itself.
