Just Kidding :D
Actually you recently overbid me on an auction for a bunch of boxed Colecovision games (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8165295123&ssPageName=STRK:MEDW:IT). No hard feelings, I know you use a sniping tool.
But anyways, I'm curious about one of the items in the lot, Richard Scary's Best Electronic Word Book Ever. I dont see thie title in the online rarity guide. Is it an Adam only game? I didn't know that Richard Scary even around back in the Coleco days?
What's the story?

Watch it, Grik. The last guy who had the gall to mention in a kidding manner that Joe outbid him on an auction got flamed by half of the board. :D

Yeah, I remember that. I was actually just joking because of that last issue. I think I've covered my ass this time though because I remembered the smiley. :P But seriously, I have no hard feelings at all. There are no friends on eBay. I'm just curious about the game I mentioned above.

LOL Richard Scarry has been around at least since the early 70's! My favorite book as a child was Richard Scarry's Cars & Trucks & Things That Go! I took that book to show & tell and story time and I did book reports on it every chance that I got. Just like Where The Wild Things Are, it was all the art in it that made it so badass. You never read it so much as you just looked at it. I traced just about every picture in the whole book. If it had ever been made into a coloring book, I would've owned a dozen copies of them, because I would've had to have another one to color as soon as I finished one. So I dunno how old he is now, but he rocks harder than Dr. Seuss in my book! I just love his style. And yet I still don't own a copy of Busytown for Genesis yet... HMM... I guess I need to start collecting all the Sega Club titles next! I'm curious about that Coleco game too now. So what is the story on it? How much of his software is available anyway, and which systems has it been made for? I bet that there's at least one of his games for the Pico too, huh?

It was a bonus pack-in with some ADAM computers. I believe there was a sticker on my box (Adam box) about it. I had that one CIB packed inside along with Buck Rogers, and some other eductational tape game.

its always fun to track down the guy who outbid you and jack up the prices for all the games he's trying to get so he won't be able to afford the next game you want.

That wouldn't work with Joe because he has the unlimited resources of DP Industries to back him up. That also includes exclusive use of the Sothy Squad and Ms. Achika's "recreation center" in the basement.
Just quit ebay right now, nobody will ever outbid him again. LOL

So is it a cartridge game or on cassette? Also, is it not in the online guide for some reason or did I just overlook it?

I was hoping that game wouldn't push the bidding too high. It was actually the Dr. Seuss packaging that I wanted. As v_g_a explains, the Scarry game is just a cassette tape disguised in standard Coleco edutainment packaging.
PS this sniping seems to be a running theme these days. I really hope I'm not making enemies :(

To make the title of this thread grammatically correct, I suggest adding a comma after the name Joe.

I wonder what would happen if we all used esnipe on the same auction with the same maximum bid?

And you all thought my story about DP putting cookies on your computers so Joe can snipe your auctions was a joke. You pitiful fools. :-P

They go by who added it to their esnipe account first.

You can actually control the time the bid is placed. By default it is 6 seconds til close, but you could make it minutes before if that was your thing. But that sort of goes against the whole snipe aspect by tipping your hat too soon.
But the earliest bid still wins if they are the same $$ value.
So change all your snipe times to 10 seconds to closing and beat the competition with the same bid.

Yeah, Joe beat me the other day as well. It was a lot of 11 Game Boy games. I bid with 26 secs left, he with 5. It happens. I was trying to get a deal, instead of bidding what I was willing to pay. Oh well. Hope you enjoy em Joe.

See Joe and I have been able to live in harmony in bidding thus far. At CGE we were both going after the Portable PlayStation that someone brought to the auction. He let me go at it till it was out of my price range and then he moved on it. Unfortunately there was no snipe program there, as someone went even higher than either of us were willing to spend.

Not at all. We can't all be by the computer 24/7. It's understand that it's nothing personal, It's just eBay.

I didnt know people were allowed to use that kind of software on ebay.Hell i didnt even know it existed. That guy was a good seller, too. i won another lot of gb games from him.do you collect gb games?

Then the person that placed the earliest bid would win.
