I bought out a complete NES test center set-up, and with it were all the "normal" test carts. But it also has a yellow test cart with a duck hunt label. It seems to be no different than duck hunt (kinda like the zelda test cart). There is no information on it anywhere. I contacted one individual (I forget his name, but you all know him as the guy who has appr. 400 protos and a complete NES collection) about a year ago, who said basically "yeah, but it is just for testing the zapper". I am sure he is correct...what else would it be for....but he had no other insight. I got the feeling he knew of its existance, but placed little importance on it. Does any one know anything about it?? And should it not be in the database? How does one get it "accepted" into the database....to authenticate its existance? To me, it is more valuable than the other better-known test carts, just becuase of its uniqueness. any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The "search" function is your friend.
You mean the search function thats been basically out of comission for the last month and a half, that saves one from doing anything like finding out before hand about a topic like this.

Thanks...but what about a listing in DP and/or a "rarity value" assigned to it (like the one-of-a-kind robot cart)?
And is there such an animal as a Mario 3 yellow test cart?

Could we put together a checklist of what test cartridges we know to exist and any label variations right here ? We might as well set some sort of rough value and rarity as well.
Control Deck Test Cartridge
Power Pad Test Cartridge
Joystick Test Cartridge
Duck Hunt Teat Cartridge
Legend of Zelda Test Cartridge
There are 2 I can't make out from the pictures in the link above.

OK. So we have the following list.
Control Deck Test Cartridge (Yellow cart / White label)
Control Deck Test Cartridge (Grey Cart / White Label) ???
Power Pad Test Cartridge (Yellow cart / White label)
Joystick Test Cartridge (Yellow cart / White label)
Duck Hunt Teat Cartridge (Yellow cart / White label)
Legend of Zelda Test Cartridge (Yellow cart / White label)
Rob / Zapper Test Cartridge (Grey cart / White Labe)
NTF2 Test Cartridge (Grey cart / White Labe)
Port Test Cartridge (Yellow cart / White label)
I'm new to the test cartridge stuff. I'm not sure about an SMB3 cart. Is there a Zelda 2 test cart?

Rob/Zapper is standard grey.

duck hunt and the zelda test carts each have colored labels (exactly like the normal label). Never heard of a zelda II test cart....and heard a rumor of a mario3 yellow test cart from an UNreliable source.

So this seems to be the whole list then.
Control Deck Test Cartridge (Yellow cart / White label)
Control Deck Test Cartridge (Grey Cart / White Label) ???
Power Pad Test Cartridge (Yellow cart / White label)
Joystick Test Cartridge (Yellow cart / White label)
Duck Hunt Teat Cartridge (Yellow cart / White label)
Legend of Zelda Test Cartridge (Yellow cart / White label)
Rob / Zapper Test Cartridge (Grey cart / White Labe)
NTF2 Test Cartridge (Grey cart / White Labe)
Port Test Cartridge (Yellow cart / White label)
So I guess these are pretty much R9s and10s. Too hard to determine value because they don't change hands that often. Didn't someone hold an auction in the Buying and Selling thread for the Zelda once?

probably. imo the zelda and duckhunt ones have less value, as it is just the regular game rom and game label sticked to a yellow cart.

NO NO NO NO NO!!!! The duck hunt yellow test art should be worth a fortune!!! :D :D :D NOT LESS!! (Becuase I have one). I am,of course, joking. It is true that the yellow zelda and duck hunt seem to be EXACTLY the same as the grey cart.. Except that they are both miracles from God and should be worth untold fortunes.

I'd love to get my hands on one but that can take a while and some money.
