View Full Version : After Four Years Jet Grind Radio is Completed!
So I get one of my all-time favorite games, Jet Grind Radio, back in 2001. I always have a blast playing this great game. And over time I've gotten without conscious effort Jet! ratings on all the stages except one: Kogane-Cho's Fight or Flight. This stage can be quite an evil beast!
But after a diligent several hours over the course of two days (after all, I did need to celebrate Jan. 31st with my DP bretheren ;) (and then keep playing until I won)) I finally finished that dastardly stage! The way I did it was I used a high-scoring character to play with, and then what I did was hit the multi-step red arrows to take care of them before the strong forces came out. During the forces' transition time I hit up all the high-point green arrows. Finally, afterwards I hit the next red arrow, the strongmen came, and then I jetted from section to section as fast as I could to complete the level under the time limit. Final score? Over 73,000 points, well dashing the record and required pointage. And now I have all five of the hidden characters and all the grafiti souls, and this game is truly complete.
...But that doesn't mean I'll ever stop playing it for fun! ;)

\^_^/ Congrats! Its always a good feeling to finally "wrap it up" especially if its a game that you really, really like, but theres just that one boss or stage that you can't get through.
I have a save file for that game thats pretty far along, but if I were to go back and try to complete it, I'd probably start it over from scratch. Only because its been more than a year since I last touched it...

I remember a couple of stages with tin roofs you might want to be a bit more specific....
now for some reiminscing I remember how annoying one stage was (this was the one with the everhead track...kinda reminds me of bensonhurst in brooklyn) there was a set of billboards with small tags, and the only way to get them was to wall ride then jump from bill board to bill board...
and I loved that US Exclusive "Times Square" level...
man that game had some great level designs

Yeah, that area is in Kogane. Now is this the first time you're in the area or is this the second? You see, the game breaks down like this:
Tokyo-to Areas
Grind City
Tokyo-to Revised
When you go through Tokyo-to the second time all the sections in an area are open and you have to go through them all to win. The first time you take a section at a time.
It sounds like this is your first time on the rooftops. If so the big gate at the very top of the hill full of rooftops isn't supposed to open. What you need to do is tag all the tags that are on street level. After that there are a bunch on top of the roofs. If you fall off the roofs just go to the bottom of the hill. There will be a car there with a beige dustcover on top. Just jump on top of the car then back onto the rooftops and finish your tagging. Good luck!

For some reason, I still prefer the original Jet Grind Radio over Xbox sequal, I know it's harder, but much more original and creative, I really hope Sega would bring another sequal, oh well, can't make games that don't make money, just like Shenmue.
