So last night I went to a place with a fellow DP member (tynstar) and a friend of ours who is a DPmember , but mostly post over at AA.
I was expecting to buy a few systems and items which I did : http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=52421 :D
But when we went to look at his collection I was floored. He had every R10 and R9 if I remember right he was missing 2 (Video life and some other title)
I held and Air Raid , Gauntlet , Eli's Ladder and many others. It was was so impressive how many of these had had in mint boxes/ complete. His 5200 collection was complete as well as the 7800 collection @_@
He had a box of proto chips filled ! It was amazing ! He had lots of history and storeis that were incredible. Some of you in the 2600 field might recognize his name as well "Jerry G."
He had store displays and wierd stuff I was in awe for sure. I am going to take a camera next time and share some pics with everybody !
Just thought I would share :)

Oh, so it's Jerry G's stuff? That would just about explain it then. Ha ha. I bought a TON of weird 2600 stuff from him quite a few years ago, as I recall.

Hehe, I kinda wanted to see that impressive collection I heard about when I went to pick up Paperboy but didn't want to basically invite myself all around his house to see it, lol. Nonetheless, I'm sure it's an amazing site to behold. Pics would be super cool.

Scott (tynstar) met him a while back when Scott sold him some sealed atari stuff. I think he was happy to talk with us and I was happy to listen ;)

Very interesting.
I wish i could bask in the glow of an amazing collection like that.
To bad out of every collector i know(in "reallife") my collection is bigger or i will probably never see theirs.
Again very very nice lot of stuff.
The value of that one lot eclipses half my collection or more i bet.
Thats OK your plenty older than me i know i have time to catch up LOL ;)

Security system: laser grid, acoustic thought projection?
Automated sentry cannons?
Berserker drones?

Sharks with lasers on thier heads and the security dogs shot bees from thier mouths ;)
Also think there was a midget in a unitard you had to wrestle to get past the door if not with Jerry G.

Yeah I remember him telling me about that, he went out there to pick up some sms games and sold him stuff as well. I wonder if Jerry has the last 4 sms games I need ;D. He was selling boatloads of em for a while.

Nope , all of his SMS stuff was sold to Joe Cody at atari2600.com :/
As a matter of fact Joe Cody pretty much bought everything :(

Very cool! This take me back to my USENET days when I was really getting in 2600 collecting. The world wide web wasn't available yet, but the internet (email and news groups) was, at least at college.
Anyway, I was getting the 2600 connection newsletter, and ordered a Cubicolor cart direct from Rob Fulop for $100. I wasn't heavy into collecting yet so after about a year I decided to auction it off.
eBay was just a gleam in someone's eye, so I set up an auction on r.g.v.c and eventually moved the auction to email. Jerry G was one of the bidders. It went for $222.22 (not to Jerry BTW), but I got a nice email from him saying it was fun to bid for it anyway...
Glad he's doing better and it must have been fun to see his Room of Doom!
Cheers,
Ben

Yes, Jerry G's an old cat from way back. Good to hear he's still proud of his collection and doing well.

I can only comment on videopac 48 Backgammon you have it listed as a 8 and trans american rally as a 9 along with helicopter rescue, but Ive seen 4 of each of them at least on ebay in past 2 years and only 1 backgammon.
your Red Baron is described as "A version of Videopac 59+ Helicopter Rescue" when actualy it a version of 58+ Air Battle without the +graphics.
Microsft Basic as a 9... nah 7 at best, same for kinder im verkher..

Got a wad of C64 stuff off Jerry when he was selling off his assets and transfering 2600.com over to the new people. A couple of them today I've not seen on eBay ever...

i have bought stuff off him before, and i own several unique items from him.
i would love to have seen his collection before he broke it up and sold it off in pieces, it must have been about the best in the world.
just the colecovision stuff that he had.... it was unbelieveable. he easily had the best colecovision collection until he sold it to joe cody.
i am oh so jealous of you guys.

what I said..
all I watch is videopac/odyssey.. I check every 5-10 hours
which bit are you querying ?
theres a K.I.V on there now at only $20ish with 12 hours to go, a backgammon would be $100 by now easily.
MS basic comes up about once every three months.
and red baron = Barao Vermeho in brazilian, which is Air Battle.
I own both releases and a red baron prototype.

Well basically this thread is about Jerry G and his grails which I saw. It was an experience indeed ! Not about other grails.
Also glad to see everybodys interest in his health.
I think thats why you were questioned by The Red Eye ;)
