Ok, this will be brief as I don't have a bunch of time but want to get some opinions. I bought the Linux resource kit(Novell) from an ebay member and he emails to say it was shipped and that he removed the packaging as they wouldn't fit in the package. So, I tell him that I bought the item because of the packaging...I wanted the whole thing not just the discs, I can download all the )#($8#@) for free.

So then he says they wouldn't fit in the envelop, they're in plastic cases. That's bull because plastic cases are bigger than this folder that they come in. Then I tell him I will expect a refund for not keeping his end of the deal. I really would NOT have purchased this item without it's packaging. I paid $5 for the item and $5 for shipping. Then I tell him it's unacceptable and he says he left the folder at the post office.

What do I do here? Forget about it? Demand a refund? File a complaint?

He claims he's new to ebay but I'm pretty sure he's just trying to pull a fast one since I noticed that the picture in his auction is not his. Lots of people have been using this picture lately it seems.

Personally, I would just ask for a refund. If the guy says no, I'd leave him a negative feedback and move on. I understand the frustration, but I wouldn't file complaints about it over $10.

He said if I'm that bent up, I can reject the mail for a refund. So I told him to leave positive feedback for me stating that I paid prompty as I did. And up on him receiving the item back he could send me a REFUND, not send me money back. A REFUND, as I'm not interested in losing money via a paypal transaction and I stressed that since he's "new" to this. So I told him once I received a refund, I would leave positive feedback stating that there was A problem(no mention of actual problem) and that the seller was more than willing to work things out.

I think this is fair...am I wrong?

EDIT: Maybe more than fair.
