Step right up.
Who are the VB fans here?
As of now, I know of Adam G(though I think he had to part with his :<)< Balloon fight, myself, DogP and Captain nintendo.
Who else here plays their g ames in black and red? :)

I haven't played mine in ages, but I do own one, and I remember having lots of good times on it, particularly with Teleroboxer and Panic Bomber. While my eyeballs probably hurt a little more today because of it, the Virtual Boy should have had a greater lifespen, IMO.

Count me in. I've even got the obsessive-compulsive gameroom (http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/Groups/167/167491/folders/113572/784936roomofdoom2a.jpg) to prove it. The VB remains my favorite system, despite (and because of) its flaws.

Just got one and have to look for more games.

If I had a visor, I'd Duct Tape the damn thing to my head. I mean, Hey It was supposed to be a virtual reality helmet.

Count me in. When I play mine, I take it off the stand and rest it on my face, as I lay on my back. Makes for a very comfortable experience. used to play that way in the back of a pick-up, too.

I'm a VB fan too. Mario's Tennis and Red Alarm are my favourites.

Yep, big VB fan here. I've yet to delve into the world of the crazy-super-high priced Japanese titles, but believe me I've been tempted a few times!

I am glad I picked up Jack Bros for $12.99 though ;)

BTW, good to see you over here NeoZeed!

Well as Kamino pointed out , I am in this club now. I got an instant VB collection lastnight and havent had a chance to look at it unitl I just got home and I was shocked to see that one looks as if it has never been opened @_@ (the ntsc unit) It still has the Nintendo seal tape over the sides.

And the Jap Unit has everything bagged and it doesnt look used at all. The unti had no fingerprints on it and was perfect in everyway. These 2 units I got last night are virtually new !

So anyhow , here is what I picked up last night as far as VB goes :

Complete NTSC Virtual Boy system CIB
Complete JP Virtual Boy system CIB
Both are very nice to mint !

Games for US VB :
3D Tetris
Marios Tennis
Golf
Virtual league Baseball
Red Alarm
Teleroboxer
Galactic Pinball

Japanese games :
Jack Bros
Virtual 3d shooting game
Virtual Force
Vtetris (x2)
Galactic Pinball
Pani Bomb (bomberman)
Teleroboxer
Mario's Tennis
Virtual Fishing
Virtual Professional Baseball 95'

How could you forget me? :( :( :( After all those chats we had about you really wanting Jack Bros! then you finally got it!

I was just playing on Teleroboxer earlier too!

/me raises hand.

I <3 my little black and red console. I only have two games for it, though: Mario Tennis and Wario Land. (I plan on revising that in the future, however.) Wario Land is freakin' sweet, and I actually finished it! (If you knew my game playing habits, that would be an accomplishment indeed. :P)

Has anybody tried to play their Virtual Boy in the dark? Looks really good, but once you turn on the light, it feels like you just woke up (i.e. AIEEE! IT BURNS!).

VB fan from way back....have a complete U.S. collection, most of which came cheap (and barely used) from BlockBuster, have 2 of the hardcase rental units, The one I play is mounted on an adapted swing-arm lamp, and building a head-mounted unit is one of my 2005 goals. Red Alarm just barely edges out Galactic Pinball for favorite game. Love the stereo game music too...it feels like it's right inside your head!

WOOT! Go VB!!! Sadly, I haven't really had much time to play the VB lately, although I've been programming/hacking it whenever I get the time.

Galactic Pinball! WOOHOO! I'm only 2 games away from a complete US set, but I really could care less about Baseball or Golf. Maybe someday I'll finish the set, just for the sake of being able to say that I do have at least one complete set in my collection. But UGH, sports games, what's the point?

I love the VB! It's one of my favorite systems. With the exception of Virtual Bowling, I've got a complete collection of all the US and Japanese games. It's too bad more games weren't released for it, the system had some great potential.

Hey DogP, when are you going to make a Virtual Boy multi-cart?!? :P

Hey DogP, when are you going to make a Virtual Boy multi-cart?!? :P

Well... I'll make one (to sell) as soon as I make a PCB... just need to find the time (and resources) to do it. What I'd really like to do is patch the ROMs so they'll run fine in a different address space, then I wouldn't need any special hardware, and I could boot my own menu to select the game... but once again... I need to get a round tuit ;) .

Rich; That lamp arm sounds cool.

There's how I play virtual boy. Lapstand! Great for loafing around while playing VB games.

Iron Draggon; You'd be surprised at how good Golf is. As for Virtual League baseball; It's still under $5 shipped SEALED, how can you go wrong.
I also see sealed GOLFs for $20 BINS.
Adam; yeah, well, I cussed you out for that when you did it :P
DogP; stop IRCing and get to work on a production run of VB programmable carts or a homebrew! :P
Super Mario Fan; If you play Wario Land, 3d Tetris, Vertical Force, and Mario Tennis, I can't see how you can be dissapointed. Throw funky bowling on for amusement.

Cauterize; Actually, i've been burnt three times trying to acquire jack bros..I thought i had it when i posted the complete collection thread; alas...Damn people who can't list an item properly, as it was the jap version that I want nothing to do with. However, i've got one lined up - as soon as a complete copy hits ebay, a certain DP member has a jack bros on hold for me - EVERYONE STAY AWAY FROM JACK BROS ON EBAY :P

I'm a big 'ol VB fan. I bought mine back when they hit $29 at EB and then went hog wild buying cheap $3-5 games over the coming months. I couldn't afford one before then (I was probably like 12 or 13), but I used to play the demo at stores all the time. Red Alarm & Wario Land are my favorite games. And I was always diisapointed that Zero Racer was cancelled (that was the name wasn't it?). I thought the vector graphics worked great and I never got confused.

Somehow along the way I lost my original VB and games, but I stumbled across one a few years ago with 4 games for $20 (Teleroboxer, Mario's Tennis, Mario Clash & Wario Land). And I have another one that my brother one found minus the stand & foam cover. I'm still looking to find Red Alarm in the wild, but VB's are basically non-existant around here. My VB is on permanent display on top of my entertainment stand.

The VB had so much potential, but it was killed by bad press and the one color graphics. I remember EGM just poking fun at it before launch. But then I remember how much GameFan tried to give it some honest loving press... I love the VB!

Count me in too, although I haven't played it in awhile.

I got a $50 Sears gift certificate from work one year, and I bought the system and about 5 games and got change back. :-P I have since completed the US cart collection, but I don't think I will be getting any of the rare Japanese-only carts anytime soon. @_@
It's a fun system, the Vectrex of its day i think. Galactic Pinball and Wario Land are my favorites.

Oh I know I can get Golf & Baseball dirt cheap factory sealed anytime, I just haven't gotten around to it yet, but I will soon. However, what I really have my heart set on is Space Invaders, which definitely ain't cheap to get new! That one's gonna be the crown jewel of my VB collection someday, I hope.

Iron Draggon, I've got a case of sealed VB Baseball carts laying around collecting dust. Give me your address and I'll ship one out to you, no charge.

And if you ever find Space Invaders and need a manual for it, lmk 'cause I've got an extra here somewhere. That one is gonna cost you though. :P

Well, it looks like you live in the UK so shipping there is obviously gonna cost me allot more than shipping within the US. If you want to pay for shipping yourself, I'd be glad to send one out to you. :)

Forgot about that...checked via Google and apparently did this 7 years ago!...time flies. Here's a link to the thread in RGVC (http://groups-beta.google.com/group/rec.games.video.classic/browse_thread/thread/9f7395815ecaefd0/54b0a8b12a6bf7b6?q=a54br9+virtual+boy&_done=%2Fgroups%3Fq%3Da54br9+virtual+boy%26hl%3Den %26lr%3D%26sa%3DN%26tab%3Dwg%26&_doneTitle=Back+to+Search&&d#54b0a8b12a6bf7b6) back when I was posting as a54br9. Don't think this "party"s happening without me.

Though I'm sobbing that the right eye of my VB is on the fritz (yet to fix it) - I'm still a hardcore VB fan. Once I have enough rom to get my Doom on display, the VBoy will be the prominent peice next to R.O.B.
