FROM 1UP.COM:
Meanwhile, according to Total Video Games, a Conker: Live and Reloaded demo disc sent to retailers includes a brief promo image for a new Killer Instinct game, set to debut in "200X." A new KI installment has been rumored for some time.

@_@
I hope this is true or someone at Rare will suffer if this is a tease of a game that will never come out :/

Hmmm this sounds pretty good...I still wish I had a perfect arcade port of the original Killer Instinct....I miss the rendered intros they once had.

But considering how fast Rare develops games, I wouldn't expect it any earlier than 2008.

When was this announced at 1-Up? What Conker Demo?

A "Brief Promo" can be anything... The Conker: Live and Reloaded demo I have has the magazine with the Killer Instinct logo on the back cover

Thats what i was thinkin, but rare wouldn't be able to make it anyways (would they?) since ninty have all the rights?

Lets hope its better than KI Gold. An update of the original would be fantastic, but I doubt they'll ever be able to capture the charm the franchise had in 2D, much like Mortal Kombat.

Damn, I thought this had been posted before. Knew about this one for some time.

Rumor is Perfect Dark Zero and the new KI will both be launch/first Generation games for Xenon/XBox Next. Perfect Dark I would guess will hit before KI.

I'm sooo with you on that. As Spoon said, I have a strange feeling it will be for the next MS console...

Durrr... Rare Said they wouldn't release a new Killer Instinct on the Xbox. So naturally it would have to be on the Next console (or the next, next console... and so on and so forth)

Hey guys, am i not wrong in the belief that RARE don't have the rights to KI or Perfect dark there both Ninty owned! :/

Well Rare did use the logo in Conker: Live and Reloaded... and they did comment in one of their Hot-Seats that there would be one (as I put before- Not on Xbox) so I'm guessing its Rare's.

Well Im not sure who it belongs to but if it is Nintendo's they would of had a KI game on GC...but knowing them, these days, you never know.

When Nintendo sold Rare, they let Rare keep the properties it created themselves (Perfect Dark, Banjo, KI, Conker, etc.). So yeah, anything Rare created (outside of the DK and Starfox games) are still theirs.

And I was so looking forward to Dinosaur Planet... Why Did Nintendo have to slap Star Fox on there??? Rare could have a nice fresh IP ripe for the Xbox.

If that were the case how come not one of these game series you've mentioned, have appeared on the xbox? since rare switched over to MS.

Also Nintendo aren't the type of people to let departing companies take big name games with them, i'm still pretty sure Killer Instinct is still ninty's i don't know about the rest?

Just my opinion! really.. ;)

Banjo = Rare. Bajo was developed by Rare and published by THQ on GBA (Grunty and Pilot) now... would Nintendo have let THQ publish a Nintendo property when we all know Nintendo is more than able to publish GBA software?

Perfect Dark = Rare. Microsoft Showed the Cell Shaded looking Joahana Dark renderes at either X02 or X03.

Conker = Rare. ...its one of the most played games I have on Xbox and its only a 3 part demo so far!

And I'm almost 100% sure KI is Rare... KI is in Conker: Live and Reloaded! (Logo on the Back of the "Drudge" Magazine Conker is reading while the Gray Squirrel is being electricuted after you beat the Dr. Tediz) And Rare mentioned that there would be annother one, just not on the current Xbox (hmmm... I think thats the third time I've mentioned that)

There's an article on 1up.com that suggests that Killer Instinct is Rare's. I'm sure if KI was'nt Rare's someone would have disputed it by now.

LOL man I remember when KI was first released in the arcades it blew everyone away.
many of the Streetfighter machines were collecting dust all summer long and when Mortal Kombat 3 was released shortly after everyone checked that out for about a week and it was such a let down we all went back to playing KI again.
the original Killer Instinct arcade game was probably one of the most kick ass arcade releases ever I mean the graphics still look great today had that killer combooo voice happening and even the cabinet had excellent graphic art on it.
Killer Instinct was anything but boring especially if u knew the combos and finishing moves :D

KI gold was good on the N64 but I wanted an arcade perfect port of the original the same as many other gamers did but it was obvious that the 64 wasnt capable of a port like that.
I mean damn I had to go back to my old super nes at the time to play the Killer Instinct that I really wanted and even though it was a great effort from rare to put a (then) state of the art arcade game on a (even then) outdated 16-bit system I was slightly dissapointed by the whole promise of the ULTRA 64 symbol that was on display on the original KI cabinets and even displayed during the demo play of the arcade game :(

well since i have so many KI fans i need to ask a question...remember the girls finishing move was to flash the enemy, well what would happen if u did the more annoying super finisher, never figured out what she did.

I suck at this game and still play the hell out of it on MAME. Fulgore is the MAN... er, MACHINE.

Given the 'then' of KI and what could be the 'now'... I'd love the new KI to be a 3Dish 2D fighter similar to Tao Feng, but actually playable and fun.
