his website, at least the gaming portions, never seem to be updated. he does an article in a gaming magazine that probably took an hour tops, including the actual game playing. does he have some larger unseen body of constant work or does the game make a living with his miniscule public interaction.

He writes for this Bay area magazine:
www.thewavemag.com
Specifically, you can find his articles here:
http://www.thewavemag.com/pagegen.php?pagename=seanbaby
He was writing for them pretty regularly for awhile, but I haven't noticed much new material lately.
He's definitely a funny guy. The Super Friends stuff on his page is pure gold. Check out some of his Turkish movie reviews too--they're worth a chuckle or two.

My favorite quote of all time comes from Seanbaby. "If you accidentally pick the martial arts master, Kin Korn Carn, just hit reset." LOL

He's proving my theory that if you pretend to be famous, and if you live in San Francisco, people just give you money.

He's funny, but he's a jerk and he's pretty demeaning sometimes. He also makes a stupid growly face in 99% of his pictures that gets really, really old. Like he's bad or some shit. Get a white glove like MJ if you're bad, Sean.

The Seanbaby line that made me laugh the most came from his comments on the Batman and the Mummy (http://www.seanbaby.com/hostess/batman1.htm) hostess ad:
"Robin, if you carry around a Special Mummy Ray Gun in your panties, it better fucking work on mummies. "
God that makes me crack up every time I read it!

I live just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. I wish that statement held true for me. Someday, maybe I'll try it. Thanks for the tip!
He's funny, but he's a jerk and he's pretty demeaning sometimes.
Well, Rob, I think you're a funny guy, too. Your avatar is the most hysterical image I've ever seen in gaming, honest to God. Having said that, putting your "Rank" as "Your dad" and location being "buying rare games just moments before you get there," well... you know what they say about pots and kettles...

The stuff on his website is hillarious, but I don't find his EGM articles funny. There are only so many ways you can say a game is bad.

I agree that Seanbaby is getting pretty old. What's sad, however, is that a lot of folks on the net do their best to imitate him.
You know who you are.

Agreed. I'm not denying that he's worth a chuckle or two from time to time, but 98% of the time he's just annoying.

Seanbaby is a good writer and he's funny, I just wish he got more then just a page in EGM and that he'd update his site once in awhile.
I wonder what the guy is like in real life.

How does he set gaming journalism back twenty years?
Personally, I feel that gaming "journalists" were of a much higher caliber twenty years ago (well, closer to 15 years ago..), and I blame much of this on the internet. When there is no word/ space budget to be concerned with, and no professional editor checking your work, a writer tends to get very sloppy.
So if Seanbaby sets gaming journalism back twenty years, are you paying him a compliment? Are you indicating that he is a boon?

He's really not a journalist though. More of a humor writer, really. I don't find him very funny although he has his moments.

Fine by me.
I'd like to see a US magazine that is on par with Electonic Games or Video Games & Computer Entertainment.
I'd rather read Martha Stewart than any current US gaming magazine.

Indeed, while some of his stuff is a little questionable, those Turkish movie reviews are things of beauty.

Hardly. He's completely immature and unfunny. He tries way too hard.
He's really not a journalist though.
He writes for a major gaming publication. That makes him a journalist.

Ok, touche'. Look at it this way. Gaming journalism is always criticized for being nowhere near professional. The few out there who are trying to push it towards credibility have to deal with "geniuses" like him. That sounds a bit better.
Down with Seanbaby. Down with Gamereviewgod too. Ha ha. He is neither funny or edgy or hip or whatever. I would like nothing more than for Seanbaby to be raped every second on the leper island that is San Fran. No offense to rape victims or lepers!

While Seanbaby may come off as narcissistic in some of his "works", anyone who can read this:
http://www.thewavemag.com/pagegen.php?pagename=article&articleid=22088
And not laugh, at least a little, has got something seriously wrong with them.
Just saying.

I disagree - I can work for the NBA and not be a basketball player, after all. His niche is humor more than news. Comedian more than journalist. I'll grant that it's a grey area, but I always thought of his stuff as more game related 'humor' than anything.

Seanbaby's stuff for EGM is weak and censored.
If i wanna read Seanbaby talking about games and stuff i want the raw and uncut stuff.
I like Seanbaby, his Nintendo Reader stuff was great and that mummy gun thing had me rolling. LOL

I've been a Seanbaby fan for years and I agree, his magazine stuff is way watered down from the original work.
Anyone read the EGM article he did about the cosplayers it San Fran and how they had a Hispanic Fund banner on their float? I saw those cosplayers months after that issue at a parade and they had the same banner. That was funny.

I just wish he would update his site more often, it usually gives me a good chuckle.

Jesus, I guess you hit a nerve.
I happen to really like Seanbaby's articles, and while watered down in EGM, they're still the only reason to read that crap-fest of a magazine.

BTW, "journalist" is usually a title applied to those who do legitimate reporting of news events. I don't think people consider Dave Barry a journalist, even though he works for a major publication.
Consider Seanbaby a humorist, whose area of discussion happens to include videogames.

"Journalism" is a pretty open profession...as long as your name is in print somewhere, people think you're legit.
Seanbaby doesn't hold a candle to Lumthemad, that's what I think. Too bad good ole' Lum handed over his stripes a while back, though.
