I'm stuck as well. That pic above is colorized, right? The ones at BK aren't color... right? Or have they gotten that advanced!?

Sorry. I should have noted that this is a Hack of Kaboom that I made for the Atari 2600 that was inspired by the new Burger King Handheld. You can play this in an Emulator on your computer. The actual Burger King games are LCD based. Check them out here:

I have not played any of the games. Brian R. from AtariAge wrote:
The BK I was at only had the Grand Prix game. I don't know when the others will be coming out. If I'm lucky I won't miss any and be able to get each one.
Looks like the Grand Prix one actually has four "levels," with the speed of the cars increasing each level. After the fourth level you win and the game's over. You can only take three hits, but as I said, it is a kid's toy and so is not very hard. There's four lanes, and it looks like the way it works is whenever you get into a lane, it throws a car at you.
The opening and ending "music" on it actually isn't that bad.
It's just a little palm-sized thing with an LCD screen, sound and two buttons - up and down. It's got an on-off switch in the back. Doesn't look like the battery is intended to be replaced. A booklet with the game says each comes in two colors. Mine is gray on top, purple on the bottom.
And, interestingly, it has a 1982 Activision copyright on the back.
They are actually very small. It's about the size of my Motorola V60 cell phone, if that helps any. It fits right in the palm of my hand.

so thats the deal! cool, yesterday my 2 year old was running around with something beeping so i took it and it was "grand prix". my wife said he got it from the her friend's 12 year old son. i thought it might have been an older series i missed, not a bad game really well suited to the limits of the LCD format. with these and the older tiger handhelds you can most of the classic activision line up in LCD form.

Burger King has LCD Activision games with the Kids Meal. Just like McDonalds did with the SEGA Games. It looks like Grand Prix is the game that is out right now.

Too bad that these are LCD-based B&W games, or else BK could have gone for the most obvious choice in the Activision catalog: Pressure Cooker!

That hack reminds me of a hamburgler one I used to want to do. Not even making this up. I wanted burgers as bombs, and make a hamburgler throwing the bombs down. I just didn't understand the whole thing, not a very good programmer. Nobody could help either. Well it looks good, nice to see something I wanted to come alive!

It would be easy to do, except for the Hamburglars Red Tie. I was going to make a Hamburglar version but not having the Tie killed it.

I just saw these at BK and purchased one. They are only 70 cents if you ask for them seperately!

Why is Pressure Cooker most obvious? Great game, but certainly not as common or popular as say, Pitfall (well, that's a bit harder to make into one of these little LCD games, but it's easily doable). Pressure Cooker is pretty rare in my travels, though the guide has it as a 3. Boxing, Freeway, Fishing Derby, River Raid and a bunch of other common classics I would think would come before PC, since they were more popular, but I'd love to see PC and all the others released in Kid's Meals too! Of course, I question why they chose Barnstorming over some much better and just as easy to make other Activision titles, but whatever. :)

Obvious because of its theme: hamburgers!!!
We're talking specifically of Activision games for the 2600 being turned into LCD games for a burger chain... obviosly, a hamburger-themed game would be an ideal match!
Too bad the games are in black-and-white... since the game is color-coded, that's the only problem I see.

thats cool, but does BK let you buy these toys seperately or do you halfto buy the kids meal?

My local BK sold me the Grand Prix toy (the only one they've received so far, they said) for $1.

Pitfall (well, that's a bit harder to make into one of these little LCD games, but it's easily doable).
its been done, and faithfully. yet the gameplay on my tiger version is well, a bit lacking in the action/motion dept.
while searching for an image of that handheld i came across this, which looks to be a shell variation on the 98' tiger one

the tiger line also included rampage and keystone kapers. being something of a pitfall fanatic i'm tempted to get this one but $15 is just too much for POS.

A few color changes.
I always like black backgrounds. I gave the Bomber a red background to go with the Burger King colors of red and yellow.
