Right now, I see a parallel between now and the 16 bit wars of 1993-94. Each current gen system has been out for around 3 years, and has had a chance to develop its own followers and nice in various genres. Which current (of the big 3) console is your favorite?
Mine is the Gamecube, simply for the great 1st party titles. I play Mario Tennis, Kart:DD, Luigi's Manison, Mario Sunshine, et. al like crazy by myself and with my friends.

i hate to say it but ps2 only due to the titles on there that i like, gamecube (and dreamcast if you listed it) would have came close though. heres some titles to back up my choice:
Ico
Guilty Gear X, XX, Isuka
Manhunt
Mark of Kri
Xenosaga
Katamari Damacy
KoF 00/01
Space Channel 5: SE
Mad Maestro!
also, the other 2 are barely playable when it comes to 2D fighters (omg the pain!)

xbox , halo 2 and guility gear x 2 are the only 2 modern games in addicted to due to online play.

My only current gen system is PS2, but I'm most likely going to pick up a Cube soon.
I didn't vote.

ps2 becuase i find myself playing it the most. i am currently working on getting more game systems though, so far this year i got a SMS, VIC-20, and still waiting for arrival of Sega cd and Atari 2600

Thats a tough one. I love my GC because of all the exclusive 1st party gems (Zelda, Metroid ect..), but on the other hand the PS2 has more third party support as well as niche titles. Also can't forget about the Xbox modding capabilities and the recent out burst of great games in the past year or so (Ninja Gaiden, Fable, Metal Slug 3). I guess i'm going to have to say Xbox, because not only do multi platform games look and play the best on it, but because you can also put damn near your whole collection of games on it if it's modded.

My first and favorite console of this gen is Game Cube. I have spent the most time with its library even though I have less GC games than PS2 or Xbox. Xbox is a close second though.
PS2 is 3rd, I have the most games for PS2 but it rarely seems to get played and I have a huge back-log for it. For me PS2 is -_-

Xbox because out of the 3 current gen systems I play xbox the most. But out of the 3 I have more PS2 games then GC or XBox. But 1st place is Xbox then PS2 and i dont think my gamecube has been turned on since the the legend of zelda windwaker came out. Im sorry Mario

Me three! Im hooked on the Resident Evil Remake! Im having to prise it from my own hands to eat and sleep!
Give me the low price, availability and library of the PS2 on an XboX's power and capabilities. Then I'd be happy. The PS3 will solve that problem.
For me:
PS2....so/so hardware with diverse library.
XboX....killer hardware with unimaginative clone library.
Cube....super-capable hardware with "who-cares?" library.
The Cube started as my hands down favorite....but lost momentum. I was a massive XboX fan....until every second game became a shooter. The PS2 was always a take-it-or-leave-it console, but ended up winning me over.

I voted for the PS2, but X-Box is the next system I'll buy (Fable and Morrowind here I come...). The PS2 got the most titles that fit my style: FF X, Dark Cloud 1 and 2, shooters and so on.
Some days ago I was thinking about maybe buying a Cube since it's so cheap now. But there are not much games that really interest me. So definitely never a Game Cube for me.

Tough call for me. I own a PS2 and a Gamecube. I'm going to go with the Gamecube, because if there's a third party game available for both consoles, I'll try to get the GC version with a few exceptions, such as if the PS2 version is better by a large margin. I like the GC controller too - while not as good as a PS2 controller, it's quite an improvement over the N64 controller, even though the d-pad is too small.
In fact, the Gamecube is my second favorite console to collect for, only behind the SNES.

I'm shocked at the poll. RE4 was the first time I turned on my cube in a year, while my Xbox gets used every couple of days, but I'm an online nut. That's why for me the cube looses, because of it's complete lack of anything online. The PS2 is the gold standard, I dig it for it's RPG's and first release titles.

Cube.
Eternal Darkness, Windwaker, SSB:M, Metroid Prime 1/2, Resident Evil 4, and Animal Crossing are so damned good it's hard to pick otherwise.
But it's a tough call. I could just as easily make a case for the PS2 in the number one slot.
Xbox would have to settle on 3rd despite the fact I love that most games are in HD and online play is pretty much standard.
