It's just a 4-switch 2600, unless I'm missing something.

If I am not mistaken it's a 2600 'darth vader'. Plain 4 switch except with an all black shell.

It's not Rare or anything, but you will find a wood panel before a Dart vader. A vader is a little more uncommon.

I thought the Darth Vader model didnt have the woodgrain on the front?

i think the wood grain looks better simply becuase the wood grain gives it a more sleeker look

thanks for clarifying that, i didnt think it was rare but its best to double check.
actually i do think the in the pic is woodgrain, the front is a little angled in the shot

....so that's what a "Darth vader" model 2600 looks like? I swear to god I thought it was a system shaped like vader's head. LOL

Unless it is just the picture, that system appears to have a woodgrain panel in the front. If so, then it is not the darth vader model.

Would someone please explain to me just what the hell "Darth Vader" has to do with an Atari console? For some reason this name has always annoyed me.

Simply because like D.V., the console is all black. I have one & like it that way since most of my other consoles are black, anyway. It'd be kind of silly calling it the "Johnny Cash", depending on your perspective. ;)

It really doesn't have anything to do with Atari. I think its a pretty cool name though, and since they're both black its pretty fitting.
