That drive me crazy! I've been playing Pandora Tomorrow for the Cube recently and everytime I start a game I want to Kill whoever decided I needed to Press the "A" button 9 TIMES!!! Just to load the stupid game!
If you've never Played it before I'll run through what you have to do:
1. Opening Screen Press A
2. Start Game Screen Press A
3. Access Card? Press A
4. Load Successful Press A
5. Select Profile Press A
6. Access Card? Press A
7. Load Successful Press A (WHY OH WHY MAKE ME DO STEPS 3,4,6,7??)
8. Load Game,Level or new game. Press Down and A
9. Load Select One more Time Press A

You know what? It isn't the fact that I play the whole game in black and white, because it is so damn dark you need the goggles at all times, it isn't the errors, glitches, and constant saves/checkpoints that bothers me the most. It's pressing A 9 times just to load a stupid game. No need to get me to confirm you'll be accessing my memory card, not one, but twice, and no need for my confirmation that it was indeed successful twice!

So, now that my rant is done, what are the little things that bug you?

i hate how in burnout 3 i have to go into the tracks and open my playlist every time i play, you should just be able to save what you want to play with your player profile and god forbid you forget, what crappy music you are punished with! hahaha

I agree, I can't stand that. They did that shit on purpose too, in order to shove the corporate america soundtrack down your throat. God, I hate EA and their shameless plugs.

It also bugged me that you had to get ink ribbons in order to simply save in the earlier RE games. That's nuts. Just let me save the game without worrying about having to search high and low for an item that lets me perform a basic function of my console. Not to mention having to ration them is a pain. Thank god they changed all that crap in RE4.

I don't know what i hate more, cheap characters or people who play cheap with cheap characters in fighting games.....how many times have you played someone in Street fighter who always used blanka and would just sit there and electrocute you?? or friggan chip from guilty gear and they'd ONLY do his dash move and knock you around .... drives me NUTS....recently in my local arcade they unlocked devil jin and he has a move where he shoots a laser out of his outh and it does a decent amout of damage..and now thats the ONLY MOVE PEOPLE DO!!!!! WHYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

Dozens of developers/publisher/partner etc. screens before you get to play the game... that you CAN"T press the A button and skip through.

A game....

For Xbox....

By the developers who brought you....

<developers name>......

Published by.....

In cooperation with.....

Who also brought you....

Here's a picture of my cat.....

Ok NOW you can hit any button to start.

I liked the pre-CD games where you saw a QUICK flash of Sega or something and 1 second later you started the game.

Okay, publisher and developer screens I can understand. They made the game, they want some credit for it. But why am I reminded what system I'm playing every damn time I start it up? It's right in front of me.

The start up sequence for R-Type Final was similarly long.

I too am a big hater of games that have a pop up to tell you that the game has successfully been saved. I am also rather annoyed when there are games that have this confirmation screen and then you are put back into the "select your spot to save."

Okay -- I want to save. When I'm done, just put me back at the pause screen or where ever and put a screen at the top that says, "Save complete!"

I also hate the fact that the GameCube only has two memory card slots. Not the biggest deal, but why not on the controller like the DC and Xbox? That is so much better.

Lastly, I hate the fact that memory cards with nothing special cost $30.00 for the Xbox. The darn thing has a hard drive, so I only need a small one for transferring files to a friend's Xbox to play on, and on top of that Sega's VMUs cost $30.00. If I'm going to pay that much, at least put a screen on it or something.

That save bullshit sure is annoying. I've often wondered (but been too afraid) to just turn it off when it says "Save successful" instead of pushing a button. Would it successfully save or not? Anyone?

I hate it when you can't pause cut scenes. What happens if the phone or doorbell rings, or something like that? Fortunately, most of the newer games being released have remedied this...making me a happy camper! :)

This isn't gaming related, but I actually counted the last time I needed to run Office Update for some systems at work, and Microsoft has the user press 'OK' or 'Next>' SIX times before actually downloading and installing the office updates available.

Well I'll add one to the Windows hatred here, since I just got through doing this. Windows Update wants to download new updates. OK, no problem. Windows Update wants to install new updates. OK, no problem. Windows needs to restart in order to finish installing updates, do you want to do this now or later? Later please. And every fucking 5 minutes after you say later, that bitch is popping up asking your ass if you wanna do it now or later until you finally give in and fucking do it now! Leave me the fuck alone about it! I said later and I meant later, not just pester my ass until I fucking do it now!

Interesting question for you all:

In Mario Kart for SNES, when you pick a kart driver they ask you "Is this OK?"

Do you find that to be annoying as well?

I didn't, it's just one quick button click away anyways. :P

ummm....sweep them.

I hate cutscenes that you can't skip, and when you die have to watch them over again. makes the games unplayable imo.

The last battle on Red Faction 2 is just like that. Aaargh.

3 minutes of cutscene.
1 minute of battle.
You die.
Continue.
3 minutes of cutscene.
1 minute of battle.
You die.
Continue.
3 minutes of cutscene.
1 minute (etc.)......
