As you may or may not have seen in the Video Gaming Forum, Rocky Raccon is spearheading a permanent archive, that is indexed by system, of repair information. One day, this could be the be all and end all resource for classic gaming.

In the same way emulation and roms preserve the efforts of those early artists and programmers, this resource could do the same for the arcane world of classic console repair.

Do you remember a 'how to' you posted in this forum? Search it out, perhaps edit it if needed, and contribute the text of it to the resource, to be indexed for the ages.

We may end up 'proofing' submissions in this forum first, to make sure the fix is comprehensive, safe and worthy. Details to follow.

There is benefit for tech heads in this, as we will be able to avoid re-inventing the wheel so often, and gamers everywhere will be able to breath life into some of their consoles.

Many people around DP see me as the main tech head, because I'm high profile, buy you guys here, and I know that many of you know some systems so well, you wrote the book on it. Think about what you want to share, hunt it down, and share it.

The future of Gaming is in your hands!!!!! ;)

Yeah guys. Word is...this will be up tonight! It's actually FINISHED and primied to go, Joe will be linking it up by the end of the night (or so he says...)

Find that "How to", take that question and answer it and "Add Content" (What the deal is called in the system) and add it into the system.

ASWELL...

We also need so called "Proofers" to check out submissions into the new systems. If you are intrested, you can shoot ME and E-MAIL (As my PM box is only so big) with the title "Digital Press - Tech section Help" , so I know it's about that.

and yes, this is going to be one massive database I belive once it gets going, and well be helping a LOT of people who no longer need to wait for answers, nor will we have to deal with the "My Sega CD/Mega CD stopped working ..... It's the Fuse right!?" 10,000 times. ;-)

Thank you wonderful folks in advance.

Here are some questions.

Can one post images to the knowledge base, or do I have to link to outside images?

Can one edit and improve your articles?

Can you add numbers next to the system categories so we can see which have articles?

Thanks

Bumping this one back up to the top. I would like to hire a few people to take charge of sections convering specific systems. This is a chance for you to become part of the DP staff!

In particluar, I could really use someone for the Atari 5200, Atari 7800, Colecovision, Intellivision, Odyssey2, all Sega systems, and all 32, 64, and 128 bit systems. If you are interested in any of these, PM me.
