Anybody pick this one up yet? I'm intrigued by the GC version with Mario and pals...

What you say?

Not yet. Actually, I WILL get it, but not until it's $20. And only for the Nintendo characters. I really like that they decided to put them in (Since the Cube has no online, they decided to put Mario and pals in in lieu of online.) and can't wait to at least try it. I don't get into sports games, but this is probably as close as we'll get to "Mario Basketball" for a while. LOL

I'll probably end up getting this when it hits the $20 mark too. I wish Nintendo would stop doing this. They are just making you spend money on something you really don't want to play... I'll be getting Fight Night solely for the Super Punch-Out!! too. Wonder what they'll do with the next Madden or Soccer game?

Got it. wished I had not. HORRIBLE game. Nintendo AllStars not worth it. I was bored with it after about five min. when the thrill of "Oh Mario and Peach and OH Luigi! Hey they are break dancing and acting real Street like!!!"

Actually this is an unfair review. I've only had the game about two hours. But IMO wait until its free.

No one forces you to buy these things, you know. Nintendo isn't holding a gun to your head and telling you you have to buy every game with Mario in it, or whatever.

Personally, I think it's a cool idea. It's nice that since GC owners get screwed on the on-line part, EA tries to make it up a bit.

I think it's a cool idea, and I plan on picking it up soon when I get some cash. But they could've made it with LAN and used warppipe that would've been MUCH cooler. But I think it is cool that they put something to replace online instead of completly screwing out cube owners.

I picked it up, and I'm really enjoying it. The Nintendo All-Stars is more or less an added bonus for me, since I'm a huge fan of the series to begin with. The game's hip hop style is somewhat hit and miss. It works for what the game is, but sometimes it seems as though the game assumes that everyone who plays it is black (the 'announcer' is humorous and interesting about 5% of the time, and the other 95% is quite annoying). The dunk contest is a great and fun feature, but it isn't the sort of thing you can do endlessly. Court creation is a lot of fun as well. I've only scratched the surface in the single player mode, but so far it looks to be a lot of fun. I think this is the sort of thing that even non-sports fans can enjoy, because it focuses less on technicality and more on gameplay.

The addition of the characters is just a bonus for Nintendo/Mario fans. I don't like sports.. unless Mario's in it. And this is close enough.

Sarcasm + internet = idiots who get angry...

I WANT to play the games simply because Mario is in them. My complaint is there are so many GREAT games out there I still need to buy, Finding an extra 20 or 50 to spend on something that features special characters is a little hard. Same thing with MK: Deception... I need the GameCube version just to see Shao Kahn, I'll deffinately buy it some time, but in this case I'd much rather have annother version for Online play.

I love the fact that Nintendo is licenseing its characters out! My Wallet isn't such a fan.
