is there anything that predates Fire Emblem for the Famicom?

I'm pretty sure that there is.

I wonder what the first one to get released in the STATES was.....probaly Warsong for the Genesis or one of the Orge Tactics games for the SNES.

Shining Force 2 for Genny. Still a great game.

id imagine there has to of been some earlier...like on nes or sms.....nothing predating say...87 or 86?

Nope. Fire Emblem was still first.

Lords of Midnight came out on the C64 in '85. Earliest I can find with what I consider independent elements of strategy and RPG.
