I read about this markdown yesterday on CAG and went to a couple local TRU's this afternoon. Not much good stuff left but I did manage to get the following:

Eternal Darkness - $4
Space Invaders Advance...I hear this is a TRU exclusive title - $4
5" LCD screen for PSOne - $10

I was really hoping to score an Xbox or PS2 LCD screen, but I'm happy with what I got. :-P

I'm happy. Should I have picked up space invaders GBA? They had plenty of it. Oh, and is Black & Bruised for PS2 worth playing?

Goatdan- I think the sale was actually supposed to start today. Word about it just leaked yesterday though. Or were people getting 90% off yesterday too? The TRU's I went to today, employees were *just* putting up the new sale signs, so I figured it started today.

Crawfish- Yes! Get Space Invaders! It's actually a very good game. I played it on the can today for at least a half hour. Contains the original and a updated version of SI that plays allot like Space Invaders '91 for Genesis. Graphics were very slick too and even has battery backup.

I was looking at Soul Cal 2 for PS2 today. That isn't part of the green tag sale though so if you want it, you'll have to suck it up and pay the full $8. :P

There were a few other non-green tag games I saw in the $5-$8 range. Can't remember the names but they weren't anything special.

Stocking stuffers

Yeah, I'd pay a buck for a game I could trade in for $3-$5 in credit. Or give to a kid who may not have it. Or trade for another equally common game I may actually want.

I can remember when store were blowing out those "junky" Vectrexes for $25 each and no one wanted 'em. Try and buy one now for $25. You never know. One man's "junk" is another man's opportunity.

Remember when NIB Virtua Boys were going for $30 at KayBee?

DAMN I wish I'd bought one.....

Speaking of which...

Does anyone know the status of the PSOne hardware? I haven't seen it sold new anywhere in awhile outside of the screen bundle, EB and Gamestop only have it available used on their site, yet the Sony site seems to suggest that they're still producing the thing.

There are precious few NIB sealed ones coming across eBay, makes me think that Sony quietly stopped selling the things....

I picked up a nifty-looking third-party PS2 multitap/AV selector/vertical stand thing for three bucks today. My friend wanted to go back and grab a few more things and that's all I could find worth getting, since I grabbed all the remaining good stuff yesterday.

I kicked ass last night, and I'm going back after I finish typing this!

PS2 Talk Net Headset - $3
Galerians: Ash (PS2) - $1
Space Invaders (GBA) - $4 (up for trade)
Gladius (GC) - $5 (up for trade)
Crash Bash (PS1) - $1.50
Virtua Tennis (GBA) (3) - $1 (up for trade)
Dark Angel (PS2) (2) - $1
E-Jay Clubworld (PS2) (4) - $1

Also, I got a $3 off coupon for my next purchase and the guy who rang me up threw in another copy of Gladius (GC), not realizing that he hadn't scanned it. I'm keeping the free one for myself! The dollar PS2 games are going straight to EB so I can put the screws to them!

Still going through the stuff I bought. I spent over $250 on a bunch of stuff. It wasn't all video game related. Many toys I just couldn't pass up. I will make a detailed list later. Best non gaming finds were 100 watt stereo system w/cd/tape deck It had a broken box so no one bought it at 70% off. Grand total $7.00. I couldn't believe it was still there. Today I was picking through what was left and they come wheeling up 3 childrens bikes brand new and they have freaking green tags on them!!! Total price $6, $7 and $7. I am having great luck with this sale. I will probably go back tomorrow and see if they put anything more out. I advise everyone to go back and look again. I missed a ton of stuff the first time. They also were bringing new stuff out as they found it. Also, scan, scan, scan. I found a bunch of stuff that was not even marked. Good luck to all.

All I know is I'm going back tomorrow. If the PSone/LCDs still fall under this (and there's any left, which I'm sure there will be) then the PSone combos will be $13 and the screens will be $4.30. Really just looking for trade bait for EB.

So is it true that they are doing 2 trades + $10 extra?

Good luck for me tomorrow... =)

I stopped at one today in Wisconsin hoping to find a few things... Ran into Goodwill Hunter on my way in...

My Playstation collection is officially quite a bit larger. I also got a pretty darn good number of random other games, most under $2.00. I cleaned house of Dreamcast games (which weren't much any more) for the GOAT Store and got some trade stuff that I'll put up soon...

After that, I decided to try the other Toys R Us in town... I got an amazing deal on a ton of original GBA accessories. I don't yet have a GBA, but I'll be getting one. When you can get rechargable batteries with charger for under a buck, you just can't go wrong.

I'll make up a trade list sometime soon. I have a few stacks of PS2 and GameCube, as well some guides and the tons of rechargable batteries and other random GBA stuff. And some PS1 stuff. From the sale, if anyone picked up Eternal Darkness and wants to trade for something else (GameCube I only have R: Racing Evolution, it seems...), I'd love to. PM me and I'll give you a list of what I have.

Mine too...(Glad I got there before you did ;) ) They must have put out much of that today, or no one bothered to go there yesterday. For less than $100 total and 2 days of trips to local TRUs, my collections have increased by;

PS1 - 15 (Including some late releases; MLB 2005 & NFL Gameday 2005)
PS2 - 7
Xbox - 6
Gamecube - 4 (Love the pac-man bonus disc in R Racing!)
DC - 4
GBA - 1

Plus a stack of Nintendo Powers, Game Guides, E-reader cards, cables, some trade-bait, and a nice new frisbee (with how-to-do-tricks DVD) for .60! It's crazy, but a very good kind of crazy...

One of the employees there told me that they had out all those games yesterday too. I didn't see any of it when I was there Tuesday night, but I did see a ton of N64 titles that weren't there any more then. Well, ONE N64 title that wasn't there, but multiple copies of it.

Oddly enough, the other TRU had a bunch of the same stuff with no green tags. I was thinking about picking up a couple PS1 games I didn't get doubles of for friends, and they had them but they weren't discounted. Ah well.

Just to let you know almost all the titles I've seen listed here for cheap are excluded from EB's trade 5 get a new game deal (there's a whole list of games on EB's website). But here's the kicker, they ARE offering an extra $10 for every 2 non-sports PS2/XB/GC game you trade in. So its not as cheap, but what, its like $10 for a $50 game. Still sounds good to me.

Let the EB raping begin tomorrow (though I'm going after the small classic collection they have).

First Time Stopping at Toys R Us..after reading about this Green Tag Sale.

So on the way to the MALL yesterday I stopped at Toys R Us..

Right in front of the Gaming section they had a rack filled with games..
PS2/GBA/XBOX/GC
Most stuff marked $5.00 and up I passed ...like Star Was;The Clone Wars(Xbox) for $6+..
They had a ton of them and, the PS2 Primal's for $1.50..(stacks of them)

I grabbed two Primal's for it's something about getting a PS2 game for $1.50 that thrills me..

(NO PS LCD screens)
Tons of Misc Strategy Guides...
Many PS Games.(didn't have time to check)

Looking around the "Video Game section" I found lots of stuff marked down.(Clearance)
Otherwise I didn't find anything in the store marked down..

The GBA stuff was all 50 cent each(a whole shelf of this stuff)
They had different colors types etc..I just grabbed whatever may come useful to me...

On the racks...(passed a lot up)

PS2 Wipeout Fusion $2.50.(tons of them)
PS2 XIII $4.88..........(only because It was cheap and I loved playing it/have it for Xbox)
Xbox Van Helsing $11.98....(I wanted to buy this game anyhow)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/2005_0210_214722AA.jpg

At EB I was going to pick up a second copy of OUTRUN 2 for $17..to link..(nextime)
I bought :
Oddworld Strangers Wrath $44.99/Used..(What I went there for)
Kill Switch $17 Used

Book-mag Store;
OPM
Van Helsing Calendar $1

After seeing this thread, I drove twenty miles to the nearest TRU, and they had nothing. Zilch. Not a green tag to be found. I asked the woman working there where all the stuff was, and she just kind of spread out her arms and said, "All around." People complain about EB and GS employees (whom I've had no problem with), but talk about unknowedgeable staff! TRU people seem have this aura about them that says, "Do not be misled by the close propinquity between these objects and myself, only by the perverted vagaries of happenstance has fate placed us in the same building." I mean really, there was nothing, not even a piece of trash, with a green tag.

It's on my want list anyway, I have an eerie fascination with that wackball Kenji Eno and his crazy games.

Anyway, I just got back from my 3rd TRU raid in 24 hours (3 diff stores).

Nothing spectacular, but cool nonetheless:

Crash Bandicoot Warped GH - PS1
Crash Team Racing GH - PS1

As for the DC games, I am using the jewel cases as replacements for my cracked cases, but if anyone needs the ose games, PM me. They are all Sega All Stars.

just ran back again. slim pickins now.....

only managed a Terminator ps2 game and picked up a couple of game boy advance rechargable battery packs things for .50 LOL

they had some rf units for the psx on markdown($3.00) and about 5 adapters for the n64 at .50 apiece

i wanted one of those psx lcd screens, but alas they were Red tagged  at $65 oh well, time to check out that eb sale thingy. i might take advantage of that extra $10 deal. do they take ps1 games on that?

Well, spent 6.20 at TRU today to then only go to EB and turn those turds into treasures. With the help of Shenmue 2 and MGS2 substance (xbox versions), I turn about 9.50 into 39 some odd dollars in sore credit at EB. Pretty sweet deal i'd say, seeing as I plopped it down on Y's VI.

OK here's what I got:

PS2: Mad Maestro X6 = $6.00
PS2: Primal X20 = $30.00

Viewtiful Joe Guide
Zelda: The Wind Waker Guide
Soul Calibur II LE Guide

DC: WSB 2K2
N64 Game Shark

In theory I should be able to get $130.00 in trade in credit for the PS2 games on top of what they normally give (which I am sure is nothing), but I am worried that they are going to give me shit about trading in so much of the same shit. Obviously I'll not do it all at once, but has any one else had an experience trading in more than one of the same game at an EBGames?

Wow, this is crazy, I bought about $50 worth of stuff, most of the games already mentioned, plus my local TRU has:

XBox Phantom Crash, Harry Potter, Motor Trend Lotus Challenge, I'm just keeping these for my collection

Funniest thing is, even the store employees and managers are joining the fray, during the week, when employees are supposed to mark those games, but instead all they do is scanning entire inventory and check if some of the games are promo 90% off, one manager bought $60 worth of stuff, and the receipt says you saved $540. Fortunately I heard about this soon enough to grab the games I wanted before they even have the chance to scan the prices.

BTW, at EB, is there limit on how many games you can trade in if there're no repeat(s) in your trade? ie, 8 games with no 2 of the same title.

Yeah I found that out the hard way. Sucks that I cant trade in two of the same game, because now I have 12 extra copies of Primal. Then only way to deal with it is to go find 12 copies of some other cheapo game so that I can trade these in...

Damn, the TRU's around here are barren, just picked up the cheap PS1 games and Soul Calibur 2 for PS2.

Damn you Goodwill Hunter for taking all the games I wanted! All I want was Carrier :P

And damn all you guys for picking up 20 copies of games! :P
It killed my TRU adventures.

I decided to go on a road trip today to the TRU in Bellingham, WA but all their green tags were still only 70% off. So all I got was Mad Maestro for $3. And my friend drove and some 80 year old lady hit his car in the parking lot twice and tore off his bumper. So he's gonna have fun working that out because we're from Canada.

Check with GoatDan...he might be able to help you out with that title. I have an extra Gamecube R Racing Evolution with the bonus PacMan disc if you're interested...otherwise, all I can say is keep on your toes, and know that if a SE Wisconsin store has two or more games on sale...I will be there ;)

Heads up: Jak and Daxter 1 for PS2 (GH) is $2.00 at TRU. It does not have a green tag; you have to take it up to the register and it'll ring up for the price. Here was my score:

Jak and Daxter (PS2) $2.00
Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 (DC) $2.00
Sega Bass Fishing (DC) $0.50
Sega Tennis 2K2 (DC) $1.00
(3) Intec 15 block memory cards for PS1 ($1.00 each)

Heh, talking with Goatdan on another deal actually. So I'll check with him.

I would've been to the TRU's around here earlier, but damn, college is rather lame, and prohibited me. Yeargh I say.

Gamerush doesn't care how many copies of the same game you trade in, plus they'll give you $5 in trade in for Primal. I just traded in 7 copies of Mojo! which I paid $7 for, got $35 trade in value, and pre-ordered Project Snowblind using the $35 in trade in value. (Gamerush has a deal where you trade in any 2 XBOX, PS2 and GC games except old sports games [current ones are ok], you can pre-order any $50 game for $35 plus use your trade in). So I got a $50 game for $7.

The only problem is, most new releases, there're very few reasons for me to get them, jsut wait a year and many of the games will probably end up in the same crazy clearance run, I might check my local EB and Gamerush and see if they havesure to be rare titles.

BTW, I have the following games for trade and I expect offers of the same value (at least comparable), no Mojo for my MegaMan TN for example

GC:

Universal Studios
Black and Bruised
Mega Man NT

PS2:

Primal
Mojo
Wild Arms 3
MDK2

DC:

Tennis 2K2
Carrier
Jet Grind Radio

No sales, trade only, simply send me PM.

Hit the local (Woodbury) TRU tonight:

GPX portable CD player $2
PS2 analog controller 1.19
Ps2 Dual Impact controller 1.19
PS2 8/16MB memory card 3.00
DC Carrier 2.00

I saved $84.30!!! :D

anyone local (in MN) hit Roseville or Maplewood locations? Anything left? Woodbury has 2 separate tables, one w/ a handful of asst DC/Xbox/PS games, the other had several GBA carry cases, several DC controllers, half-dozen DC Gamesharks, a couple PS multitaps, & asst hookups for PS & DC.
