Does anyone know where i can get some really good facts about when and why it was created.
It has to be a citable source like a credible webpage or a book(harder as he would have to find it).
If anyone can help with this thanks much

You really shouldn't put off your homework until the last minute.

Not for me and not last minute but my friend has dialup and a whole family who wants to use it.
So the faster i can get the info to him the better off he is. Thanks for all that help though. I will pass on your pearl of wisdom x_x
As for ESRB's site he said it wasn't what he wanted.
Guess there wasn't enough info or something.
Thanks for your help anyways Poe.

Thanks i will send him the link.
If anyone knows of anything more detailed though it would help.
I am not sure exactly how much info he needs but i would rather give to much than not enough.

So let me make sure I have this straight. You're asking us to search for information, for a friend of yours we've never met, for a purpose we're unaware of, and with specifications even you're not sure of. Furthermore, we have no reason to believe that you've even given this any effort yourself, up to and including going to google.com and typing in "esrb."
Yeah, we'll get right on that.

You can be pretty hypocritical with your actions you know? Give away stuff for Xmas presents to family you never met(Which i respect you for still i might add). But NO WAY will i share a bit of info i may have.
I didn't ask people to go out searching. I know sometimes people know something off the top of their head. If they did i was hoping they might be willing to help.
Forget i asked.

It's probably no help, but both Lieberman and McCain have tabled the legislation leading to the ESRB since industry self-regulation is what they wanted in the first place. People act like they're still out their trying to get games banned when they're not. The legislation is still alive, but neither is actively pursuing it, which means it's basically dead. It might be worthwhile to know that the ESRB ratings were enough to satisfy the industry's crtitics in the Senate, if you're doing a paper.

If you google it there was a study that concluded that the ESRB wasn't all that acurate...
Also to the best of my knowledge they have less than 10 people that actually review ALL of the games...
Basically they put whatever the developer/publisher says the game should be rated...
the ESRB, in my opinion, while helpful should not be the only rating system for Games.. there is another for profit company doing ratings as well, and I can say that I do know of one additional company working on another type of rating system...
