Anyone know how this PSX sequel fares? Found it for $1.99 at EBX this afternoon and caught my intrest.

I thought it sucked. The action is just dull. I bought it and only played it for about a half hour.

I bought it and I've been so interested I haven't yet played it. I have a thing for remakes, but it just doesn't look good...
If you want a good old school update and you run into Robotron X though, I love that even for it's problems. Better yet, get Robotron 64 for the N64... One of the few reasons I keep my N64 around!

I remeber when it came out. I blew me away to see it at EB. I had hd heard nothing about it at that point. I recently got it in a lot from eBay and it was disappointing. As stated earlier, 30 minutes is about all its worth.
I would pay $2 for it though.

I've still got a sealed copy of this lying around that I picked up at a Blockbuster probably a year ago for $5. From the sounds of things, it looks like I overpaid!

Harsh!
I havent played that many PSX titles, but I like it! I think $5 is alright, thats what I paid, $1.99 is a steal. Buy it , if you hate it, then sell it here.

I remember this sold for $8.88 the day it came out. I didn't even have a PlayStation at the time, but I bought it as a "wtf" kind of item, seeing as how the game had been officially cancelled when SunSoft went under. Nobody seemed to realize that this other publisher whose name slips my mind picked it up, it just came out of NOWHERE.
I seem to remember a prototype of the SunSoft version being sold for over two grand less than a month prior, too. Oops!

I picked this game a year ago for like 4 bucks.
I always luved the old master blasters even the Genesis version but this one was pretty bad.
Not the worst game I ever played just kinda bland and the graphics are not good even for PSone.

Not the greatest game in the world, but definitely worth 2 bucks. I had fun with it. Just don't expect this to compare to the original. ;)

Probably with my luck I'll get it and not like it too much and stick it in my trade box (unless anyone wants it?).

I thought it was a fun game, more than worth the $10 I spent on it.

So what games have been released in the Blaster Master series?
I can think of the following:
Blaster Master (NES)
Blaster Master II (Genesis)
Blaster Master: ? (GB)
Blaster Master: Blasting Again (PSX)
Did I miss one?

The Game Boy game was just a port of the NES version, if I remember correctly.

There's a gameboy title called Blaster Master Boy. It's more of an RPG.

While it starts the same as the NES version, Blaster Master: Enemy Below for the GBC is in fact substantially improved over the NES version, with a variety of new bosses, maps, and powerups. It also works perfectly on a B&W GB.
The original Blaster Master Boy was just a rebranded Bomber King game.

I believe Crave entertainment (the people behind lots of mediocre games but that have been involved with a few gems / decent ones like Freedom Force, Soldier of Fortune, Battle Realms, etc.) are the ones who picked this up.
I, too, played it for about a half hour and then put it down. It was sort of fun, but I couldn't really figure out where to go and what to do. Seemed like I got stuck at one point and wasn't motivated at all to figure out what was going on.

I picked it up last week for 3.99. Didn't quite get to the half hour mark the rest of you did. I think I managed 20 minutes.

Wow, I forgot they did a GBC BM game (besides BM Boy)....I didn't know it was different from the original though (salivates)!
How different is it? Are all the original levels in there and they just added some to it? Do you still only get five contiues? How much did they add to the game? Is it as good as the original?

Never mind continues. It actually has passwords.
Most of what I know about the game comes from briefly perusing the GameFAQs material on it. As I recall, at the very least the bosses are different and the worlds are laid out in a different way. There are also some new powerups. For instance, in order to charge your gun up to maximum strength, you must first find the optional "shotgun" powerup, or you will be liimited to the first three levels of strength.
