Fluke wins with the Stadium Events.. you can't beat that even if you were givin a Neo-Geo for free found a Phatasy Star for .25 cents and they were sold to you by a topless 18 year old girl..

if that proto haul was within this year, then i vote for that. 2 stadium events is a great find, but it doesn't compare to a floor covered in protos, many unreleased.

I don't want to compete in this - and maybe it doesn't even count - but when I travelled out to Cincy to meet the CommaVid guys I came home with a boxed Video Life, Stronghold and Cakewalk and a loose Magicard. They were free. Anyway, that's my "find of the year".

You can't vote for me though - I'm not competing.

I would mention my 20-buck Irem Arcade Classics import for the PS1, but I get the impression that was just a big find for me. (But I was looking for it for four years!!)

What the hell, I'll throw my hat in the ring. I covered this in my year-end-review post, but I don't think I'll burn out the link. Picked this up at a Milwaukee flea in February for $95. A bit pricey for a brag, but I've yet to hear of anyone who knows of another one in existence. May I present the Sears 2600 Video Game Selection Center!

I posted here in March about finding this in a thrift for $5
http://image1ex.villagephotos.com/pubimage.asp?id_=1216828

I remember Captain Falcon from this board had his Gold NWC cart up for auction on ebay at the time. I was at work a few hours before finding this cart , showing a co-worker(fellow gamer/ collector) the gold NWC auction. We were talking about how cool it would be to find something like this...
I couldn't help myself, I took it to work the next day. When we were leaving, I called him over to my car..."Look what I found last night after work..." and handed it to him.
I wouldn't normally keep something like that in my car at work all day, but the look on his face was worth it!!

Mike Kennedy found 4 Intellivision Basic carts at a flea (that I should have been hitting every week when I lived in SoCal) for about $4. He sold a couple for around $400, and traded me one.

What have I found? x_x Nothing rare live or unreleased. A Spitball Sparky. 2 Vectrexes on the same day. A loose Pole Position for Vectrex (not related.) Chuck Norris/Spikes Peak. Those are the best things I can think of offhand. Since I moved, the reset button was pushed in my head, so I can't quite remember stuff from the first half of the year.

If this happened this year, the guy who owns www.ataritrader.com wins (and it's not a gag), hands down.

A $2 Gold NWC.

Just today I found a perfectly working and clean original model of the Sega Genesis, with adapter and composite video cable for $12.75. I also picked up a boxed Phantasy Star II with booklet for $10. I was pretty satisfied, to say the least.

I'm adding myself to this- when else do you have a friend give you a PS2 and around 20 games?

Out of these I've picked what looks to be the best 6 or 7 of all them and setting up the poll. The poll will be posted in a day or two.

Hey Jerry, since you don't know what to do with it, I have a suggestion. Bring it to CGE in August! Then, hand it to me. Then, walk away. Then, never ask for it back, no matter how many times you may see me afterwards.

See? Problem solved. I solve problems of this nature all the time. ;)

Wow -

I can't compete with the $2 NWC Gold cart, nor the $5 NWC Grey cart.

Maybe, my find is a little behind the $.25 stadium event carts.

Definitely no where near Joe's success at the home of Comma Vid.

However,

I would like to think that my MINT boxed with MINT manual and MINT label
Q*Bert's Qubes that I found in a game store for $1.99 was a pretty damn good find.

Again, not enough to win against the pretty heavy hitters, but better than most.

I'm going to toss in myself for that California Raisins prototype i got for the low low price of free.

I think that was a good find.

My find wasn't a game (yet), but a person. When it all gets said and done I think it will turn out to be the find of the year... :o

No more hints from me, my lips are sealed (so don't bother with the e-mails...) -_-

If this involves your handing me that boxed Video Life that you never play you've got a deal!
