I just recently finished my collection of Nes Tecmo games and I thought I'd share and make it into a poll. Tecmo is one of my favorite companies and their NES lineup of games was one of their best. I like almost all of them but I don't think anyone will wonder which one is my favorite.

I voted for Ninja Gaiden because... well, it's the only Tecmo game I own for my NES :/

Ninja Gaiden all the way!!!! Ninja Gaiden 2 would be second, with Rygar being third.

I only wish I could vote more than once. I would vote for Solomon's Key 3 times!!!! In my opinion, one of the top five NES games.

Looking at that picture though....Tecmo made really f'ing good games!

Tecmo sure had a lot of Triple A quality games. I voted for Solomon's Key because, not only does it blend puzzle and action elements so splendidly, but also because it gets very little love due to being completely overshadowed by the Ninja Gaiden and football games.

I voted for Tecmo Super Bowl, but I love most of the others too...

[Great poll! Could you also do it for other good, but not over-prolific companies? (Nintendo, Konami or Capcom polls would be impossible to make...) Jaleco perhaps?]

That is a bad ass picture. I never realized all the Tecmo NES games looked so damn good in a set like that.

That being said, I'm refraining from voting because I need to dig up a copy of Tecmo Super Bowl. Right now the vote would go to Fire & Ice.

Fire N' Ice is a great game, a hard game, and a hard to find game. It was the last peice of the my Tecmo games puzzle. Tecmo Cup Soccer was hard to find too. Well of course my vote went to my number one game of all time Tecmo Super Bowl but if I took it out of the mix my vote could have easily gone to any of those. Some games I didn't like that much were Tecmo NBA Basketball and Star Force (I still played the crap out of them though when I was a kid).

Ninja Gaiden.

Tecmo has also made a regular soccer game, I believe it's PAL-only

First off, let me compliment the awesomeness of your Tecmo NES collection. :D

Then let me go on to say that Ninja Gaiden is not just my favorite Tecmo game on the NES, but it is probably my favorite Tecmo game of all time... and hell, it's one of my favorite NES games of all time. The runners-up, in no particular order, would be Rygar, Ninja Gaiden II, and Tecmo Super Bowl, which, for the record, is pretty much the only football game I enjoy.

And not because the Pats suck so much, though, that is a nice plus. :P

Very impressive collection there. Gotta go for a toss-up with Ninja Gaiden I and II.

That is an awesome collection, kudos to you!

My fave is Rygar; I'm not really into sports games, and I think Rygar may be the only Tecmo game I own, but I'm not sure off the top of my head. Rygar again came from the DP 75 Classics you may have missed that I keep crowing about in different posts. Rygar is also the first game I ever paused and left the TV on for. I was towards the end and my wife's car broke down, so I had to pick her up. And this was way after the NES's heyday.

I picked Ninja Gaiden 2 because I spent a whole summer playing that game 24/7. I liked the first game, but part 2 is even better. I love having the 2 extra ninjas helping ou and the music was killer.

On another note...My second choice would be Tecmo World Wrestling. This is my favorite wrestling game for the NES (barely tops pro wrestling, though). I was a pre-teen when this game came out and me and my buddies would type in cuss words for the characters names. I know it's kinda immature, but was hillarious at the time. Hearing stuff like; "A**hole pile drives m. f'er (of course we wouldn't censor it, heh).

AWESOME PIC!!!
I voted Ninja Gaiden, mainly because I really liked it as a kid. I love just about all of their games though.

I'm partial to Techmo Bowl (Techmo Baseball being a close second), since this is what I played as a kid. This said, Techmo does have a nice library of NES games! :)

I thought I'd share why I decided to go for this collection. I started to actually seek out these games back during tribe week (anyone remember that). I was one of Two people in the Tecmo tribe. That combined with me realizing collecting a complete system wasn't for me and I already had a good amount of Tecmo games. Small number of games to get that are both fun to play and some that are hard to find. Some of my favorite NES games were Tecmo games. Here is my top five Tecmo Nes games in order.

1. Tecmo Super Bowl
2. Ninja Gaiden
3. Rygar
4. Ninja Gaiden II
5. Solomons Key

It was a fun adventure looking for these games. I'm thinking next I'll go for something bigger like NES Konami or Capcom.

There was Solomon's Club released on the original Gameboy. I've never played it though

OK so I thought this was interesting. I was entering my games into the new collection list and checking stuff out as I did. Only 4 games got the very special + mark that DP gives to recomended games. Can you guess which 4 got the + I think you might be surprised. Think about it then scroll down.

Ninja Gaiden, Solomon's Key, Tecmo Cup Soccer, and ..... Bad News Baseball

Solomon's Club is a good game, but the game controls are a bit different from Solomon's Key. If I remember correctly, the B button is used to jump instead of the D-Pad... it just feels weird that way.

Tecmo made some great games! Many of these games are favorites, but I had to vote Bad News Baseball. In my opinion, it is the most entertaining baseball game ever produced for a console.

If I had to pick my top 5:

5: Fire 'N Ice
4: Tecmo Bowl / Tecmo Super Bowl
3: Starforce
2: Solomon's Key
1: Bad News Baseball

Nice topic, BTW.

Very nice picture. Tecmo had some cool covers during the Nes era. I voted for Mighty Bomb Jack mostly to give the game some love, and cause I have a big soft spot for it.

Star Force might not have aged too well, but its fun for a little while at least. Its a pity the sequel Super Star Force never made it to the US. That was an interesting game that combined the shooter sequences from star force, with Zelda type dungeons.

Tecmo did have some great games but I think the most underrated game was Tecmo Cup Soccer. Two people have voted for it so far. In a Tecmo world without Tecmo Super Bowl I might have voted for it. One of the more standout titles for the NES.

Ninja Gaiden 2 would be #1 for me, being that was the first Tecmo-developed NES game that I played. Of course, Tecmo Super Bowl would be in second. Both are great games.

correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that 3 favorite Tecmo games. Ninja Gaiden is deffenetly ruling this poll. I know this is a NES forum but I was really dissapointed that Ninja Gaiden didn't get a 16 bit title. I'm a real fan of the look of 16 bit games and I think a 16 bit Ninja Gaiden would have looked real good but oh well at least their still continuing the series even though now it's way too hard for me.

My favorite out of that group will always be Rygar. I just never got into Ninja Gaiden back then, and surprising to me haven't yet. So yeah, Rygar just does it for me. I think it may be the music. It makes a game that may ordinarily be just a common adventure game, and makes it something a bit more epic.

By the way, nice sub-collection ther. Stuff like that is my favorite part of collecting.

I can't beleive Tecmo is doing a Arcade Compilation and not a NES compilation. While Tecmo had some nice arcade games (some of which aren't even on the disc) looking at this thread again reminded me how great a NES Tecmo collection disc would be. I guess it doens't really matter since I already have them all but I would probably still buy one and I think it would sell well.

You might also want to try Monster Rancher Explorer for GBC. I've heard it's just Solomon's Key with a liscense.
