I recently acquired a Genny/CD/32x combo system with these games, for 80 dollars: Which of these is worth playing? I know Heart of the Alien is good, Dark Wizard is supposed to be okay, and I'm sure Sonic CD should be fun. Are any of these total crap? (Aside from Sewer Shark/Night Trap)

Sonic CD is the best of sonic games. Forget Motocross for the 32x, It's poor quality. Corpse killer For 32XCD Is rated high, But i haven't played it so i wouldn't know. Enjoy!

Well, Let me start with your list, just edited for what I recommend...
Sega CD games:
Ecco the Dolphin - I always liked the cart version, and the CD version has a better soundtrack, so if you like the game, I'd say go for it.
Space Adventure - This is a great graphic adventure with a text interface, akin to Snatcher in controls, kinda rare too.
Heart of the Alien - Sequal to Out of this World... 'nuff said.
Sonic CD - Again, 'nuff said. Get the Japanese version for better music tho...
Heimdall - I liked this one back when it came out, but for some reason, this is the only Sega CD I own that no longer works... can't give a modern day op
Dark Wizard - Get it. Now. Grid-based RPG.
Frankenstein/Dracula - Dracula is possibly the worst game ever released for the sega cd, maybe aside from Racing Aces, but Frankenstein has a great soundtrack and is a decent platformer game... I have it and I would buy it again
Popful Mail - Yes. Get it
Dragon's Lair - Eh.... if you have a DVD player, get the 20th anniversery edition - it's packed with Space Ace AND Dragon's Lair II... if not, its a merely average port of the game.
Monkey Island - YOu need to ask?!?!
Sewer Shark - Hey, relax.... pretend it's a game. Maybe I'll even be fun! SHOOT THE TUBES DOGMEAT!!!!!!!!!!!! Heh, sorry, it's a below average game, but just from the cheezy acting and mediocre gameplay, its one of my favorites. Just don't pay more than a couple of bucks.
Final Fight CD - Almost arcade perfect.
32x games:
Star Wars - Lots of fun with two players
Virtua Fighter - Amazingly, plays better than the saturn version, despite the lower quality graphics
Virtua Racing - Nearly as good as the arcade
Knuckles Chaotix - A lot of people hate it, I like it. Special stages are hard as hell, but the final boss is well worth the effort.
32x CD games:
Fahrenheit - probably the best FMV game on SCD... comparitively
Night Trap 32x CD - it's NIGHT TRAP... it's worth it just for the history! This version is a little different than the 'Red Box' SCD version tho - new intro (no more Genesis controller for the "control device") and it has better colors for the FMV
MOre to come... (LOOK FOR THE EDIT....)

My question to you would be, are you just going to play the games that are recommended and throw aside the games that others says aren't worth playing or are you going to take the time and make your own decision about each game?

Indeed, games like Dune, Dragon's Lair, Heimdall, Mortal Kombat, and Monkey Island might be better enjoyed on other platforms (and probably only be marginally more difficult to find).

Ecco the Dolphin is cool, and I think I'm one of the few people that likes Sewer Shark.

You have to be the most judgmental person on these forums. Cut it out.

The reason I didn't mention Tempo is because I didn't get that one. The games I listed were all games I picked up in a package. I'll keep an eye out for it. :)

Money Island is one of my favorite games! Didnt knew it excisted for Sega CD.
Altho this is a game that require mouse imo, so I'd rather play it on PC or amiga instead.
I always enjoyed Final Fight, both on arcade and on SNES. Havnt tried it for any other consoles, but I guess its the same game :)

I found out a bit more about this Final Fight... it's apparently the best version (aside from arcade.) It lets you play 2 players, and you can select from Guy, Cody, or Haggar.

Good god I hope my 32X hookups get here soon, I'm SUFFERING from not being able to play Chaotix, Tempo, and to a lesser extent Virtua Racing. :beaten: So close I can taste it...

All I did was ask you a question.
I know, but you seem to put forth some sort of "Gamer's Code" that grates at the nerves. On other posts I remember you telling others (that didn't enjoy hunting for games instead of ebaying for them) to "come back when you enjoy your hobby, kay?"
And then here, you don't point out which of the games I found that you consider your favorites (or great finds), but instead get your ruler out and slap my fingers for not "doin' it old school," and just figuring it out myself. This is a forum. Come back when you enjoy other's opinions, kay?

Practice what you preach bud. My opinion is that instead of asking others, just do it the "old school" way. Also my opinion is that a good game collector goes out and actively hunts for his games.
MY opinions....see?
How about learning to live with the fact that people have different opinions other than yourself.
ANYWAYS, I was still just asking a question. I really had no other intent behind it other than to get your answer...what you seem not to want to give.

What I think Cmos is trying to say is that while you can use these suggestions... you should try out everything anyways, you never know what odd little game you may love to death.
Heck, alot of people dislike Revengers of Vengance (also for Sega CD) but I love it.

Yes, of course I'll play all of the games. And by the way, I found them all at a little store locally, so in your opinion, I really earned the games.
Also, there is a difference between opinions and judgments. (And rules.) All I am saying is that you ought to hold yourself to your own standards, and keep them to yourself unless someone asks you for them. Enjoy your "hunt," and let everyone else enjoy (and define) theirs.
But that's just my opinion.

Stay away from Mortal Kombat -- the load times are horrible (it even loads before you do a fatality) and the only "extra" is a grainy-ass video of the commerical.
