Hi folks!
I just bought a Sega CD + Genesis 2 combo set for $10 :-D
Without spending a crapload of money, what should I look into buying to have some fun with the system?
Any suggestions would be appreciated :) Anybody selling/trading anything for S-CD at the moment?
Thanks!

You should get Sonic CD. There is no other sonic game like it. In fact, I got my Sega CD just for it! And man, Is it worth it! :)

Vay, It's hard, but it's fun. If you like the Phantasy Star games, definately check it out.
Popful Mail, Awesome side-scrolling RPG, and funny. One of Working Designs's better localization jobs.

Same here, I've had my Sega CD for years now and Sonic CD is still the only game I have for it. Really gotta work on changing that, but I'm fine for now... ;)

Snatcher....if you can find it for a good price. But you will need a justifier to play it properly.
Also I have to back Sonic CD it is the best Sonic game IMO, and much cheaper to acquire than Snatcher. ;)

1. Popful Mail - The most beautiful Sega CD game in existence
2. Night Trap - An absolute classic
3. Batman Returns - The driving sequences are awesome
4. Sonic CD - Incredible sound
5. Sewer Shark - Again, although a cheesy FMV game, still an absolute classic and a great game for the true flavor of Sega CD
6. Ecco the Dolphin - Same as cart, but the sound is so much better and sets the mood better
7. Ground Zero Texas - The ultimate cheesy FMV game
8. Misadventures of Flink - good platformer
9. Silpheed - Somewhat overrated, but at the time this was groundbreaking
10. Cobra Command - FMV cartoon type game, like Dragons Lair, but good.
11. Sherlock Holmes - Highly underrated, kinda multimedia, but this was a huge breakthrough in gaming when first seen with the launch of Sega CD.
12. Hook - incredible sound
13. Sol - Feace - mediocre shooter with incredible sound
14. Jurassic Park - Kinda Multimedia ish, but definiltey a breakthrough at the time
15. Keio Flying Squadron - Personally, I think a bit overrated, but still high quality
16. Either Lunar game - Not my cup o tea, but highly regarded by fans of the genre
17. Snatcher - Kinda multimedia type, but really good.
18. NHL 94 - One of the best hockey games of all time, and the CD version had great sound
19. Time Gal - Like Cobra Command in a way
20. Road Avenger - Like Cobra Command and Time Gal in a way
These are 20 that come off the top of my head. There are definitely others, but this is a good start.
By the way, the Sega CD doesn't need a mod chip to play backups. So if you lack all morals, then fire up Clone CD. Especially for the super expensive games.

I actually liked Dracula Unleashed [a FMV game] although I think I'm probably in the minority.
I'm going to have to agree with everyone else about Sonic CD, though. That game was why I got my Sega CD back in the day. Probably the best Sonic game ever, and, with the exception of a PC release a while back, is still excusive to the Sega CD [Seriously, Sega, when are you going to release a Gamecube / PS2 / Xbox / GBA / DS release of this? you've done it with everything else sonic related]

Sewer Shark was one of those games that grew on me until I had to play it to the end.
Same with Mansion of the Hidden Souls. and Silpheed if ya like shmups.

I would have to say that the FMV games will make you want to castrate yourself.
Go for:
Silpheed - awesome shooter......this makes the system worth it.
Android assault - another \m/ shooter.
Sol Feace
There's also some damn mickey mouse game for scd that doesn't suck.
Get final fight cd, but be prepared for load times. I can take a crap between levels of FFCD. Can't always wipe till the next wait ;)

Y'know... The thing about Sewer Shark is that, for me, the quote "I love the smell of the sewers in the morning. Smells like VICTORY" was the original. It wasn't until years later when I watched Apocalypse Now that I understood. So now, in my mind, Robert Duvall must've built a time machine, went ahead to the early 90's, bought a Sega CD and played that damned game, then went back in time and said "Hey Francis..."

That's probably because most have played it on PC. ;) It's great either way.
I recommend Snatcher(I don't know if it's cheap though) and Sonic CD above everything else.

If you only get one FMV game for the Sega CD, make it Road Avenger.

Forget about Silpheed and get Robo Aleste instead. You'll thank me later.
